• just read through the whole thread (rhyme 8) ) and it sounded interesting… how’s it going GeZe?

  • Saw a post where he said he was busy.
    Guess he still is.

Look forward to hearing more about his game.

I think $50 might be a better price with all the detail he’s talking…

    A&A(&E&P)ran about $40 the last I saw.
You can still catch them “new” in the odd store on a rare occassion.

  • I’m going to Bulgaria (my country of origin) for three months from may 31 to September 10 so ive had to do extra school work. but I have finished the first page of the rule book and basically now how the game will work in my head. there will be three areas of play, Military, Diplomatic and Economic.

the military play will be similar to A&A, but there will be more units and battles wont be held on the A&A battle board but on a little 7by7 board so that you are not only the general of armies but the leader of individual units thus adding a whole new level on strategy and also having special rules for different units fighting different units so a an infantry against infantry battle would be different from a infantry against fighter.

there will be diplomatic relations between all the territories not only the major countries. there would be a variety of ways to influence countries including bribing them!

the economic aspect of the game is quite interesting. the resources-
    1.oil
    2.metal
    3.money
    3.food
    4.precios metals
    5.people
    6.exposives
you place the resources where they are made in the form of markers, so you have real convoys. for instance, basic infantry would cost mostly people so china would easily make lots of them, but to train them into real soldiers you need more resources so china can only afford guerrilla type soldiers. in contrast the us can’t have the quantity of soldiers but can have them very well trained.

the goal of the game will be to finally make a realistic WW2 game

  • GeZe & Xi,
I thought you were history. And I WAS THE FUTURE! :P
Enjoyed your old posts look forward to arguing with you. :)

  • enjoy my old posts? ya right, my old posts were crap.

    =========================================

anyways, do you think I should include the us in the map, I was thinking of not and just maybe have a little boxs for the territories

  • only unit that you might want to add is guerillas

  • do you mean-

level 1 inf, would by basicly civilians with guns (no training) , the would be cheap as they only require 2 resorces, people and a tiny bit of steel and explosive(for the guns)

    or,

speacial inf, highly trained klling machines that cost a lot

  • @GeZe:

    do you mean-

level 1 inf, would by basicly civilians with guns (no training) , the would be cheap as they only require 2 resorces, people and a tiny bit of steel and explosive(for the guns)

No way, leave 'em as just civilians with no guns! Human shield style baby… from South Park: Bigger, Longer, Uncut: “now remember human shield, protect all tanks and planes too!” camera cuts to people tied to tanks and planes ahhh yes I love that movie. I’ll be sure not to quote it too much, don’t wanna get kicked off

  • there will be no US civilians if I follow that criteria (they will all be type 1 inf)

    hmmmmmmmm

I’ll have to make a type of infantry that fits the americans

    hmmmmmmmm

    NEW!-

    Type 1.5 inf. !!!

[ a bunch of people with guns that act like cowboys, shooting anything that comes in their way, and think they are the best in the world ]

  • Guerrillas…they’re just un-uniformed snipers that don’t have a central command to take orders from.you cannot shoot what you cannot find is there motto(which they can act out fine). they for defense alone, attacking the leaders in order to remove command from the troops get unorganized.Noticed that there is a little white spot in axis and allies in the middle of the europe: Switzerland… it was not attacked because it was infested with a hoard(850,000 to be exact)of snipers.cruel bunch  . it’s whole pop. was(and still is) a guerrilla army (but you probably already know that so why 'em I rambling on.) Russia used them to massacre the germans by hitting them from behind by doing scorched earth and the french had a huge guerrilla force that numbered in the thousands giving the germans a headache… so there some ideas to use guerrillas. everyone should have some minor guerrilla force. all nuetrals have them(they did) so it is a big deterrent to the big powers.

  • example: take total pop.(ipc level) thats how many d6 you get. Guerrillas get a first 2 d6 shot at the enemy with no return fire on first round cont. as normally does not affect air battles, SBR ect.

  • or take this one: every country has a pop. in support of the war(which swings in support after victories or shuns it….) that determines guerilla activity after the battle and during. whatever does support you can either use to dispel a unit from the battle (i.e. blew up the bridge so they couldn’t advance…) or you force one to retreat which including the above doesn’t cost a dime or the 2d6… or d-day happens and french guerillas assist the allies as a fighting force… I dunno it probably doesn’t hold water as an idea that is very affective you take it as you see it… but I do like the human shields 8)

  • so geze how is the game coming along

  • 4 in a row…is that the longest string of non-registered members posting? lol just looked kinda weird, I think it is :) maybe it even woulda kept going if I didn’t ruin it just now

  • @GeZe:

    the units-
if you can think of anything I have missed please write

sorry for posting so long. “if you can think of anything I have missed please write”, this is why I posted. the idea just struck me and so I decided to write it out. I was done posting after my fourth one; it just came to me slowly as I thought about it and I had to implement it to the game in my mind. but again it’s geze’s decision to take it or leave it…

  • gureilla guy-

    thats an awsome idea! :D

I was thinking about having a graph for the support of the war too! :D

sorry I havnt replied, Im in Bulgaria (south east europe) so I havnt had accses to the internet much :(

  • I’ve read the thread and think this new game idea sounds great!

    What countries does it include?

(United Kingdom, France, Germany, Italy, U.S.S.R., Japan, U.S.A., China, etc.)

How will neutral countries be incorporated? Any type of army to fight or just the traditional A&A I.P.C. fees?

Also, I would like to hear your ideas as to the special forces (infantry units) for each country.

Perhaps – Rangers, SS Troops, Red Guard, Marines … I like the guerilla unit idea as well.

Perhaps make the low-level U.S.A. infantry … National Guard?

Or instead of given each country’s special infantry a name – given them a special ability (such as the banzai attack for the Japanese

Some other ideas are wepon specialist (or variety) infantry units … such as – flamethrower, snipers (unless this will be guerillas), grenadiers, paratroopers, perhaps a medic of some sort?

    Just some ideas…

Not sure if some of these would be possible … but, I thought I’d try to help out with some different thoughts.

Also, besides having different levels of infantry … how about having heavy, medium and light armour and planes? Maybe some country-specific “special” units (such as – Russia having the T-34’s with superior attack & defense capabilities, U.K. having a special fighter unit to represent it’s “Royal” airforce, Germany’s Panzer tanks having 3 movement for it’s Blitzkrieg warfare, and the U.S. having a “heavy” transport ship … or something along those lines).

The more units, countries, etc. the better.

As turtle stated at the begining of the thread “bigger=better”.

One more suggestion – on the map size issue … how about offering the 1m X 1.7m map with the game and also offering a larger map as an enhancement for those who would like to purchase it (or perhaps giving the buyer an option with two different prices).

    Hope this helps some.

When and where is this going to be available?

    Keep up the good work!

  • just one thing you mentioned that I want to point out …when I was posting about guerrillas I was thinking more on the lines that they are either invisible or they are not brought into play unless the territory is attacked. not like a “hired” national guard. even today there is a state militia that you can join and a national guard and some NG units are deployed in Iraq…but I have not heard of militia units deployed there. they can only do hits when invaded or disruption of enemy infrastructure once some enemy holds it…but of course Geze take what I say here as you see it…But Mista, I like your thought on medics flamthrowers etc. I thought about one time making it so you have to arm the different bombers with different ammo(torpedoes, 500 lb. bomb, building buster 1000 lb. etc.) but I was getting down to city level before I gave it up :D

    cheers for now
