I assume you mean Axis and Allies 2nd Edition not revised…

Gavin,
If you and a partner lose to someone else, that is still a loss
If it weren’t then I am undefeated as well (I have never played alone on a side, except maybe once or twice)
Also, I totally agree with playing myself when I have time, Its good to practice. Last time I played myself I learned about how to really annoy Japan.
What I meant by “Special” was maybe to look at it from a certain viewpoint. (like, go America first with axis and see what allies can do)
Robby
I can hadbly belive that these anonymous guy has not lost. I have a group of friends and have been playing for a while. Normall y I win like 45% of all of my games. When I play outside my group of frieds I normally have a 90% win ratio. Whats the lesson Winning or loosing means nothing, it all depends on the quallity of your opponentes. Well I do agree that the key for a Allie win its to coordinate all of the available fire power.
When I play with the allies my overall strategy its the following:
Russia most hold, these its eassilly done by massing all of the infantry in Karelia. UK must consentrate its first efforts in Africa. UK can eassily destroy all of Germanies troops in Africa on the second or third turn. USA must consentrate all of his efforts in harrasing Japan. All US troops must be moved to India.
well, my email adrress its hector@ufm.edu,gt for players in Guatemala
Sorry to be another Anonymous user but was reading this thread and just had to jump in with both feet. While Mr. Anonymous might be a very good player I also find it very hard to believe he has “never lost” but that is not why I am posting. I feel (as if you all care) that no matter how good the plan or its execution it really dose all just come down to the dice. I know that a well executed plan can go a long way moving you closer to victory but how many games have you played when the “Big” attack comes (35 inf, 15 Armor, 5 planes vs 45 inf, 1 AA or something like that) you get the King of the Crap rolls and get less then 10 hits and WHAM!! the defender rolls some GOD roll and hits like 25 or more times. This of course swings the game totally against your. Who could for see it? No one, and that is my point. No matter how good you are, how many years you play, how good your plan all it takes is a few bad rolls and that is all she wrote. Yeah you could say that everyone gets good and bad rolls in every game but I am talking about the “KEY” rolls in the game when you say “Well this is the game” So let me ask you what percentage of the game do you think is:
Your PLAN
Your DICE
I think it is 60/40. So just like any of you Great Leaders of Men I to have an a**hole … I mean opinion.
Thx,
DaBluemax
Bottom Line is that I have never lost one
on one. All of your responses don’t shock me.
I have played games that have gone over 64
rounds. I have played games where the battles
include over 250 Inf and over 60 tanks not
to mention numerous aircraft. Things that
have kept my combat record alive are the
choices I make. When I play I have to be
in a specific mind set. I won’t play at the
drop of a hat. This is a game and because it
is a game I can choose to go to war at any
time unlike real Generals and soldiers so
quit acting like it is real and maybe you
will do better also. Patience is a virtue!
If you choose to respond to this try not
to make statements or ask questions that have
already been clarified because it becomes
redundant. I will do my best to accept a
challenge when I can spare the time with
school and all. To be more specific I play
the original version and the 2nd edition
rules. That is all that I play and all that
I will play. I don’t worry about my record I
just play the game. I could care less when
I loose I just find it amazing that many
people find it hard to believe that I haven’t
lost. Look forward to hearing from you!
KING TIGER-
Your statements may be true…or maybe not. Your opponents may be die hard’s…or maybe not. We are not here to tell you what you know is false, we are only here to be critics, observers, and learners…
But what I would like to see from you, is your views on other posts in this discussion board…what are your insights in the strategies we all debate on. Show us the light. Intrigue me, delight me with your wisdom. I’m dying to know…
I eagerly await your views…
I will have to agree with Damage on this one. Lets say you are the Axis player give use a run down on lets say your first 1 or 2 turns. Take in mind possible losses (or in your case maybe not). Please do not cop out with a post saying that you do not want to give away any secrets for I am sure we have all seen pretty much everything that could happen at least once.
Thanks,
DaBluemax
Fair Enough! I’ll put some right now.
I was hoping that you would give a bit more details then that last post.
I would like to know who in the wide, wide world of A&A players would let their opponent amass that many troops. 250 infantry!! 60 tanks!! There’s no way that would be going on in any game of mine.

I put some on some other topics on the forum.
With Russia I usually buy eight Inf first
round. Then I set a trap for the axis player.
With Germany it all depends on the allied
player. Not just what Russia does but why
he does what he did with Russia and how
might the other allied units be involved in
the plan. I might plan a long war if I have
confidence in my opponent or I may have
already found your weakness. Judging by
the intelligence on this forum I would
consider most of you guys upper level
competition. Regardless of the level I
presume I never overlook my opponent or
underestimate him. I figure when I set up
a game with one of you it will take some time
so let me know who wants to set up a game
and we can attempt to set a game up.
We have to be realistic about the time a game
takes and it might be better to play on a
weekend but that depends on the other person.
Later-
That is combined units Axis and Allies
Is it just me or did you just post a message that didn’t say a dang thing. I realize that it all depends on things but try to be a bit more exact like:
5 inf to EE, buy tranny first, ect …
Hell in that case I could just say the key to winning the game is to do something good and when the other player makes a bad move be sure to do a second good move bla bla bla but I think we all got that same plan. What I am looking for are some details.

I guess my plans are to complicated to write
an email about. I would have to write a
paper. So ask me a specific question and I
will give you an answer.
Where do you buy and use ICs?(all sides)
DO you ever buy AA guns?(all sides)
Do you ever buy tech rolls?(if so, when/who andwhy/why not?)(all sides)
From one Anon to another….
It appears to me…Anon…or King Tiger, sorry…that you should cut your losses on this conversation as I don’t think there is anything you can say that will change the minds of the readers on this forum which is, I believe, to say that you sounded awefully arrogant in your initial post.
Perhaps you are a skilled tactician / A&A gamer and have had much success. If it were me though, I would NEVER have said, “I have never lost” …even if it was true. It’s been my experience in life that nobody likes hangin out with a “know it all”.
Now, if you were to play me, you would win as I…ahem…usually lose, which is why I like to read some of the comments on the forum. Sometimes bad decisions…sometimes bad luck…sometimes a combination of the two.
I would think that putting ones money where ones mouth is would be in order here. Perhaps if you beat, and beat, and beat some of the players on this forum, you MIGHT restore some of the credibility that you instantly lost in your initial commentary. I still don’t think that the “I have never lost” comment would fly though.
Good luck in making new friends on the forum…which you seem to have a handle on already.

P.S. One thing that just occured to me, if I NEVER lost, I would quickly become bored and would have moved on to a more challenging game…WAY before 8 years. Do you ever get bored of playing A&A ??
I like his idea. I challenge you to a game!
I enjoy reading the forums for information about A&A and to hope and learn new ideas from other players, and/or help others on some advice that may help them in the game. But it gets silly to read some players’ boosting their ego about how of an “invincible player” they are and not writing in anything useful. Except to challenge and demeaner everyone’s expertise, and skill of the game. There are good players and not so good players, lets help each other instead of everybody “flexing their muscle” at one another.
Can’t everybody just get along??

So here they are, some questions. Now please write me a paper or three.

DO you ever buy AA guns?(all sides)

Okay,
First off I really didn’t plan on using my
first response to boost my ego. My thought
was that maybe if you learned something so
well it could be that successful for you in
life. What I mean is could understanding the
limits of this game give insight to being as
good as possible. It is something that we
all strive for in life (getting good). So
that is why I play the game. It might help
to know who I am talking to though.
Getting to the AA guns and the other issues
I usually only purchase AA guns with Russia
or Japan. As far as industrial complexes go
I never buy them. I think they can make a
player loose command and control. Tech rolls
are also not a good idea. The reason I don’t
do any of these is because you increase your
odds of lossing. To be a solid player in this
game you must be able to read tempo, and
be able to fight any style, pace, or obstacle
an opponent may be able to come up with.
As noted before I suggested that many players
on this site have made good progress by
suggesting to other players that the allies
should go all out Germany. One flaw with this
strategy…… You commit yourself to one
style of play. That style of play is FAST
Paced. You are simply trying to overwhelm
your opponent. Lets look at the supper bowl
for example. The rams were fast paced, high
octane and whipped people. They almost
appeared unbeatable. Then they played a team
that adapted it’s style. The patriots did
the unexpected they used 7 defensive backs
instead of the standard 3 or 4. So what I am
trying to say is think outside the box. There
are many ways to win a game but what is the
most universal? What is the most successful?
Yes I can be beaten but I use all of the
elements that are present in the game. That
is why I have success.
Wow, that was a lot of posts! but dont worry, Yanny has come to the Rescue! Next time you do that, please delete all of the words, makes it easier for the moderator to delete the post.
And btw, I had the patriots + 14
Also, can you please not type in double lines like you do? It gets kinda annoying after awhile.
So, when is our game!
