if allied has 1 inf and 1 fighter is attacked by japan with 3 inf. . allied looses inf leaving plane…can japan infantry shoot the plane down or do they have to retreat?

The Japanese Infantry can shoot down the allied fighter.

additional questions on fighters:

1  Do fighters benefit from a cover roll when attacked by units in a clearing (this would assume low flight by the aircraft)
    or do cover rolls not apply to aircraft at all?

2  Are ‘disrupted’ aircraft removed until next casualty phase (assuming they can still fly for repairs) or do they remain
  for a full turn like other units
