@linkler No, the influence is based on what nation holds whatever requirements it needs. You roll as a single nation even though the influence matters as an alliance.
Allied Dec. of War on Vichy
-
Do the allies have to pay the 10 ipps for this?
Thanks.
-
@jbuckbuddy Yes
-
@jbuckbuddy Vichy is a neutral nation that just happens to be player controlled.
-
Yes, but they also can just LL USSR < 10 IPP and get the USSR to declare war, aligning vichy to the germans and then the allies attack.
-
@insanehoshi USSR can declare war on anyone for free. Most players have house rules in restrictions on Soviet declaration of war due to the Rabid Bear strategy that is over powered requiring the Soviets to make an attack on Vichy in order to do that.
-
@insanehoshi Yes, but then the allies can DOW the USSR. So I would be asking for alot more than 10 IPP as the USSR.
-
@trig In my games, we usually find USSR has zero problems using Spanish troops if they won the Civil War to hit Vichy as that can be used against Italy who cannot hid with neutrality from Communism while also taking out free money from Germany. It’s a win win for both the Comintern and Allies, if you have a Soviet player who is asking to be paid for it clearly loves having Axis forces focus on him.
-
@caesar-seriona Or doesn’t like having the Allies focus him?
Also, often Vichy and Italy only hurts the Allies, there is no reason for the Soviets to worry. It is in their interest that they are strong and hold back and allied advance.
Also, how are you getting the Spanish troops? -
@trig No Allies player in their right mind is going to campaign against the Soviets unless the Soviets are helping the Axis. Even if USSR is in the west which is unusual but not alien.
We also play diplomacy.
The Allies usually let certain shit slide with the Soviets, a careful Soviet player will not break the requirements from the Allies to avoid a declaration of war. I for example will break that requirement because I tell the Allies if you want to go to war with me, I will simply not attack the Axis. That condition keeps the Allies honest.
-
@trig the Soviets are getting Spanish troops by winning the SCW and aligning republican Spain
-
@theveteran Which can only happen if someone decides to attack Rep. Spain.
-
@trig IIRC the wording is “Republican Spain aligns to the USSR if attacked” which can be a bit linguistically confusing. I agree that Republican Span is the one that needs to be attacked.
