It’s very true. Vichy is however great for Italy in the early game, which does heavily influence the remainder of the game. It’s still not an obvious choice, with many pros and cons.

@trulpen Id describe it as 1942, but with about twice the map complexity and number of countries as in g40. No NOs and way more units and country specific units that unlock after round 4, for example Germany gets jet fighters and stukas while the us gets fleet carriers and light fighters.

there are 2 japans, thai, finns, romanians, and ofcourse germans and italians for the axis which makes it pretty cool cause you can work on a bunch of small things at once, and the neutrals dont all work togther on one side if you attack them, they’re free game
