Looking for players for a live game sometimes in the future.
South Jersey?

@natopotato 1941, which I also have, maybe a good start. I also have 1941-42 aniversery edition which is a little smaller than the 1940s. I am very interested in playing 1940 as I haven’t had the pleasure yet.
-
I have a family room in which I set up a train set at Christmas. I have 1941 set up on one of the 6’ x 3’ boards so I can learn the game mechanics and see what does and does not work. I have Europe and Pacific 1940 on order from Ebay and expect to get them by the end of this next week.
I would love to get together with others to play this game either here or somewhere else.
-
@BeetleDuck I’m gonna Pm You
-
How often would you like to play?
-
Every couple of weeks would be good. Right now I have time on Monday and Tuesday nights since my wife works late those nights.
-
Okay Marlton is about 45 mins away from me.
I think I could definitely do something like this.
I just don’t want to commit to something and be unable to finish due to my increasing work schedule
-
just let me know when you are available and we can set something up. if your schedule is unpredictable I understand. I am a Database Administrator/Programmer so I occasionally end up late at night/very early in the morning. Getting to work at 6:30 definitely helps.
-
@BeetleDuck I’d like to try and meet up at a game store or something before eachothers home, if you get me.
-
@BeetleDuck I’m down the street in Cherry Hill off Kresson Rd. I’m a new player but have been playing 1942 online quite a bit. I have 1941, probably going to buy 1942 also. Would love to find some local players for a monthly game night.
-
That makes four of us withing 45 mins of one another. I have 1940 Global and am looking to do that.
-
@natopotato My StepSon (turning 20 soon) would likely join in too, giving us 5 if needed.
-
Sounds Great, @BeetleDuck and @Justinrenna were talking about how best to meet up. but that is the last i heard.
-
I’m new to this whole board gaming community thing. Normally it is Risk or Poker night with family etc, i’ve flopped multiple times trying to teach AA to people. I think a neutral meet-up for our first game makes a lot of sense. Do game stores normally let us play there?
-
I do not have experience with this either. I just posted here last summer to see what happened and brainstorm about ideas.
Not sure how to get it rolling either -
I am fine meeting up anywhere you guys want to meet. Sorry, I could not reply earlier, my work IT organization has things locked down so tight I can’t even get to this site. I can only access “non work related” sites from home. I understand the need for this in a company of 66,000 employees worldwide.
I recently acquired A & A Pacific and Europe - both second edition. I am missing a few parts and I am going to complain to Amazon (where I bought the games) later this evening.
I also have a number of other very old Avalon HIll games. Midway, D-Day, 1914, Blitzkrieg, Afrika Korps, etc. If you have never heard of these, think little cardboard squares with symbols, text and numbers on them.
-
@natopotato I’m still here
-
@BeetleDuck I’m trying to get a group going too. My issue is meeting at a strangers house. My mommy told me not to do that😆 Honestly, I’m sure we are all straight. A monthly group would be chill.
-
Yes, meeting in total strangers house is still sketchy.
-
@Justinrenna There is a place in Barclay pavilion on route 70 that seems to have a big space with a bunch of tables for board gamers… going to call them to see how much it would be for us to play there. I figure it would make sense to do that until we get to know one another. If my wife brought her book club weirdos to our house the first time without vetting them I would have a problem 😂😂
-
I am still of the opionion that we could set up our boards and do turn by turn on here. we just have to figure out something for the dice rolls and battles.
