RE: What's your favorite country and why?
Germany hands down for me.
Not only is Germany THE millitary powerhouse of the board but they have so much to do during there turn like, trade territories with russia, defend against britain and USA in the atlantic, and then they contest africa. Then add to the pot that everyones is gunning for you and you’ve got yourself a fun, hard fight ahead of you -
RE: Russian moves to start game
I would be very interested what a 20 year vet has as his standard moves.
I picked up a tip from this site to attack ukrain and west russia the first turn. I also always buy 2 inf 2art and then spend the rest on tanks. I always put the inf in cuacuas and the tanks go in russia.
I clump 8 inf together in siberia, then put 4 inf in china to stave off japanThen I just trade land with germany and japan until help arrives

RE: Japan, the easiest country?
My opponent tried that once, I saw the fleet coming in and bought 12 infantry, he did invade mexico and took the canal, but his fleet met its end in the heavily reiforced atlantic.
an invasion of the US is impossible IMO and if it does succeed it is probably not worth the cost. It would be like germany trying to invade america

Japan, the easiest country?
It seems that there are never any real tactical options for japan. Sure they start off with the most powerful navy in the game, but every time I play as the US I completly ignore the pacific and focuse on the atlantic. Now if that navy wants to make a diffrence there going all the way around S America then Japan does the same thing, begin landing tons of units in asia and pincers russia, but there isnt any real tactical decison making here becuase most of russias forces are tied up in europe.
Japan plays a very important role in the game, but it seems that its a role that a complete idiot could pull off. Unless of course the allies are going KJF but this rarley happans due to how fast russia will fall when there is nothing to draw germanies forces away from the eastern front

Revised more complicated than spring 1942?
I hear alot of people say that revised is more complicated than spring 1942. Now I played the classic version when I was 12. Sure it was a long time but aside from the tech and the board being diffrent I dont see to many changes from the two, and neither one really seems more complicated than the other.
So what happand in revised that was taken away that makes it more complicated than Spring 1942

RE: Midway - Useless?
the biggest problem with AAA I see is that its very easy for the US to simply ignore the Pacific theatre all together. much better to maintian dominance in the atlantic and keep a steady flow of troops into africa or even better western europe

RE: Noob Blindsinded
My group plays you get the tech right away, but it costs 30 IPC’s! 30 30 being how much one “should” have to pay in order to get the technology in on turn

RE: Midway - Useless?
whats so great about midway.
Planes movemant is horrible off of an island, essentially -1 its worth no IPC’s or is it worth 1, either way not a huge stratigic value. The only importance I can think of would be to unload land unit to protect them from a potential US assualt wiping out your invading force. But why werent those land units and Asia anyway? -
RE: Teaching People How To Play
Go to a games workshop store. Teach one of them how to play, trust me they wont mind a 30 page rulebook
