I’ve got several graphic artists beginning to get started on the maps and cards. I think we’ll have something preliminary in a few weeks! :-)

Nuke Norway Now. I’m going to have to look into that one (my grandmother being Norwegian).
Funny.

RE: 85% Funded
Do you know how many F-111s were at Heyford in '72? A single squadron, perhaps?
Thanks,
Eric -
RE: 85% Funded
Warrior,
I know that F-111s were operating out of Thailand and Nellis in 1972, but were any deployed in Europe that early?

Hi Warrior,
Feel free to just message me directly through the server here, as others have been doing. I typically respond the same day. :-)

Barney,
Yes, about a day or two after the campaign ends, I’ll be sending out an e-mail to each and every backer to (a) confirm that they are getting what they want, and (b) their shipping information.
When the games are actually produced and ready for shipment, I’ll follow up with another e-mail to make sure you didn’t move or so, just to make sure there’s no chance for a mistake.

FUNDED!
Hey guys,
Just a reminder that The War in Vietnam has been funded on Kickstarter, and the campaign will be ending Saturday, so if you’d like a copy, I invite you to make sure you order your edition before then.
We’re excited to have the opportunity to make this game, because we plan on sparing no expense to make this game utterly beautiful, playable, and just downright fun.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime chance to get a game of this quality and caliber (designed by a West Point grad and an authority on the Vietnam War), so please don’t hesitate if you think you’d like to have one.
Eric :-)

Barney,
Yes it does! Automatically (and you still get your normal maps, too).

Funded! Only days left to get The War in Vietnam
Hi all,
I received some good advice here on A&A.org that I should remind anyone that’s interested that The War in Vietnam has been funded and WILL be made. If you’d like to make sure you get a copy, the kickstarter campaign is going to run for another few days only (ends Saturday).
As I say, the game is funded and is going to be produced, but kickstarter is the only chance to pledge for a copy if you want one. Here is the link:

That’s very cool, Warrior. What a history of service!
Here’s a link to the airbase you might find interesting:

Yeah, the biggest airbase in Vietnam, I believe. Pretty impressive!!!

Imperious Leader, Warrior,
Thank you; I know how lousy it is to see an opportunity pass by just because of temporary set back. We’ve all been there.
And I appreciate your sentiment. This game has never been about a profit; we’re just really wanting to produce this puppy. Indeed, I wish it could be cheaper, but the 800+ pieces are the major expense, as I’m sure everyone here knows well enough.
My goal now is the make sure the game has the best components, air-tight and easy rules, and a historically accurate simulation.
Again, thanks for the well wishes all along, and for backing the game!
Eric :-)

Warrior,
While I can’t do this for everyone because of the limited print run we’ll be doing, I’ll set aside one Gold edition for you to buy later if you’d like. Take care of your situation and there’ll be a game waiting for you when you’re up and at 'em again.

RE: 85% Funded
Hazzah!
Thanks for everybody’s support and encouragement.
Because we’re not a game company, we now have the option to make this a most excellent game from top to bottom. We’re not worried about a bottom line, but want to make the best components possible, the most air-tight and easy rules possible, and really kick-ass artwork.
When gamers make a game they’d like to play, it’ll be superb.
Anyway, thanks again to all who supported and especially pledged.
The campaign is still going on for the next four days, so please feel free to pledge for an edition if you’d like to get one for yourself.
Thank you,
Eric -
RE: Vietnam war
Wow, how about that!
I’ll re-post a sentiment that I commented about on the KS page, that it is my abiding passion to make sure this game is as perfect as possible, with immeasurably beautiful components, easy to read and play rules, no errata, thoroughly playtested, and simply the beneficiary of my and the designer’s passion to make this game stellar.
We didn’t bring this game to light for the sake of simply producing a product to sell; oh no, we have a passion for the subject, and we want the game to be as bad ass as you do, and that’s exactly what we intended to do. Easy to play and without blemish, I’ve been working on games professionally for years and have all the experience to know how to cross every t and dot every i. :-D
Thanks to all for your support, backing, and faith; you’ll be astounded at what you’ll get on your front door when we deliver!
Thanks again,
Eric -
RE: 1973, the lost opportunity
Well I guess you can say that “close” and “actually happening” are as different as being in the army and being in a battle. Two totally different things, even though the first must precede the second.

RE: 85% Funded
The sculptor, I am told, is actually planning on doing the whole squad!
Whether that comes true, nobody knows, but Kirby would be a logical choice (being with the series the whole time). And, Jack Hogan is still alive last I heard.
Narvik,
Yes, we’re at 97% today. :-)

By the way, were you ever aware of this?:

RE: 85% Funded
Yeah, I think that pretty much sums up how most people feel about many of the old Eagle Games line.
I remember when they got bought out (this is like over ten years ago); I happened to be talking to one of the new principles at a GAMA show, and he explained how they had new ideas for the company. Seems that they eventually drifted into family games and dropped most of the wargame line. I haven’t checked them out very thoroughly of late.
