      Battle of Leyte Gulf anyone?  We don’t want to take away the option for a power (Japan) to use its carriers as 2 hit bait for their remaining aircraft and surface ships to take on the enemy ships.

      Could be wrong, but were those not escort carriers?

      Perhaps we need an escort carrier house rule.  Carries either a fighter, or a tactical bomber, can only carry 1, takes 1 hit and dies, costs 12 IPC, attacks 0, defends 1.  I’ve tried introducing a similar notion before, but it was never picked up for Enhanced (Anniversary or Revised Enhanced.)

      I think 10 would be a better price for such a unit. If that costs 12 i would spend the extra 4 to get the soaking and space for an extra plane. And abit more defence.

      I have a question for Krieghund as well, and I figured it would be easier to ask it here than to post a new thread. So, I want to know how convoys contribute to Allied income, and what the whole deal with them is. Also, it says in the rulebook that Air Bases and Naval Bases have AA capacity, does that mean if there’s a spot with an Air Base, Naval Base, and AA that all three fire at attacking planes, or just one?

      Convoys don’t contribute to anyone’s income, only take away income.

      And it depends, if it’s a bombing run on one of the bases or complexes, then they have a built in AA gun.  The AA gun piece is there only to defend against actual battles with air units.

      Well, no ICs on islands rule is obviously broken at setup on Japan, and since its on New Zealand at setup, I hardly see that as breaking the rule.

      Dont forget, ANZAC starts with a major on new south wales (violation of the rules) and a minor on New Zealand OOB (violation of the rules)

      And lest we forget this is aNZac not AAC. New Zealand played an important role in the alliance, and that should be represented. ANZAC always struggles to build that one more unit it wants when its around 20 IPCs (Fighter, artillery, 2 Infantry, etc.) If they have to build a 4th unit id rather it be at New Zealand to represent their contribution to the alliance than somewhere on the mainland.

      I also gave Canada a 2nd minor, because if it ever gets up around 20 IPCs it might need to build more than 3 units

      That’s a misprint.  OOB its just 1 minor in New South Wales

      I don’t see why in order to achieve balance you’d hinge the game on a throw that really would fuss the game if the US rolled great or rolled really bad.

      Again, why not just delay the DOW by a round.  If you attack ANZAC/UK but not US, they can’t declare war until their next collect income phase (1 safe japanese turn).  If that doesn’t suit you, then until the start of their next full round (2 safe japanese turns).  much simpler.

      I sorta agree, it seems that this is too imperative for a simple die roll.  It can win or lose a game(I know other dice can, but this is one big die roll).
