Do you mean for TripleA? I don’t know if there are plans to support national advantages for TripleA.

RE: TripleA - Play by Forum - AYCU no longer taking uploads?
Sounds like the version you are using is still the “hacked” version that was never part of the sourceforge project. Therefore, nothing is supported in your version, and nothing will ever be fixed in your version. The unstable version at triplea.sourceforge.net are at least supported by the tripleA development team, so there may still be bugs with them, but at least any bugs will be fixed in future releases.
I’d recommend running (not walking) to triplea.sourceforge.net and downloading the lastest unstable release 0.9.4.1 (since no stable releases yet have support for PBEM).
Convince your opponent to use the same version - it shouldn’t be hard if they were using the same version you had (that you say doesn’t work any more).

RE: New Triple A?
I wonder if she’s using the patched version 0.8.2.1 on one computer and trying to load an unpatched saved game file 0.8.2.1 - the versions would look identical but they are not compatible.
Jen should try 0.9.3 if she isn’t already.

RE: Please let me know if there are any problems
djensen,
I think your changes last month affected TripleA automatic turn posting summary. It’s just a guess, but the timing seems to match. TimTheEnchanter tipped me off to a problem he was having in his game versus Frood:
http://www.axisandallies.org/forums/index.php?topic=10496.45
I don’t know if this problem is still occurring for TripleA users (since I haven’t played for a while). Maybe someone can update me on whether or not this is still occurring?
I know when Tonez was developing the automatic turn posting he discovered the the forum blocked the post if it occurred to quickly after the login to the site. So he had to put a delay in there (I think) to make sure the site would accept the automatic post. Maybe djensen’s changes last month somehow increased this amount of time so now TripleA posting is broken?
This is totally a guess, and I should probably wait to hear whether or not this problem is still happening, but what the heck I thought I’d throw it out there…
Thoughts?

RE: Noob needs help #2
Switch,
Can you give a page # of that rule? I thought SBR & Rocket damage was separate (so 16 would be the max).
Thx.

RE: Edit mode of TripleA
Hm? I’ve been playing triplea for quite a while and I’ve never seen that option available (especially considering how easy it would allow to change a saved game…). Are you sure you’re taking of triplea or of that other mapping util? (map view? I dont use so I’m not sure of the name)
Yes, this is TripleA. It’s a hacked version, based on the 0.8.2.2 kernel. Which is why ppl running newer version don’t have these features (the hack is only compatible with the old kernel).
The good news is that tonez has been working on rolling these hack changes into the sourceforge project for tripleA, so future versions should all have these features, and we shouldn’t have this situations where some people are running incompatible versions. Unfortunately, it takes time, which is the only reason it’s not already done.
Once the new (unstable) release comes out, it should have these features (plus a few more). At least I hope it will.

RE: Triple A Glitches
Hey RJ
Just wanted to say that I think you’ve done a great job developing something like TripleA this far! (GK+1, but should be more like +100 :-D)I asked a few questions in the Revised thread, and I got the answer to one of two questions in your response above (concerning edits).
RJ, I would be very interested to hear the latest news in the project! Or is there some other forum or thread where this is being discussed?
Cheers / Perry
Hey Parry. Thanks for the Karma (my first Karma!!!), but I really don’t deserve it (bracing for backlash of negative karma…). Tonez is the main developer on this one, so send all good karma his way.
All I can tell you is that from what I have heard, they are VERY close to a new release of tripleA, with a few more bells and whistles geared towards the PBF gamers. It will initially be classified as an “unstable release”, but from what I’ve seen of it, I would recommend to everyone to download it right away and start using it ASAP. Once more playtesting has proven it, it will be rereleased as a stable version. For those who like 8.2.2 don’t hesistate to get this one once it’s out.
Unfortunately, as is often the case with these unpaid developers, nobody knows exactly when it will happen. But I believe it should be soon.

RE: TripleA Changes for PBEM
G.D.Fox, I’m assuming your problem is fixed since you have been posting turns.
Baghdaddy, I think the autosave file is set to save at the completion of each phase. Your suggestion is noted.
I like the idea of a text file, but the text file I was thinking of would be posted with your turn summary each turn. It would basically include all the trash talking that you get in normal PBF games but is sorely missing in TripleA games.

RE: Building ICs in other country's territories
If your ally’s capital has fallen, and you capture one of your ally’s original territories from the enemy, can you place an IC on it then?

RE: Posting error
No problem with FF…
thx.
I just had the problem repeat with a post I made that didn’t have any file attached. Looks like it isn’t the .tsvg file after all. Maybe I’ll try to get my browser reinstalled. Thanks for the help.

RE: Posting error
see, that’s where we’re different. I don’t wonder if IE has a problem…

RE: Posting error
Yep. The .tsvg file did it. Can someone else try posting a .tsvg file and see if you get the same thing? This is the error that I get as the browser closes:

RE: Posting error
Hmmm…no problems posting the .txt file. Maybe it’s just .tsvg files. Let me try again.
