@dazedwit Japan Turn 2. My long planned out strategy for Japan 2 was to capture Ceylon, bomb the factory and convoy Calcutta and Singapore so no units would be appearing in UK Pacific ever again (I bought the Hainan naval base on initial buy so I could reach India in two turns - and went J1 to make sure the battleship won’t add a turn to my strategy… and to strip 8 IPC’s off UK Pacific immediately). But once I moved the air craft carriers there along with the rest of the fleet I realized I can now send two Tacs and two fighters legally, and with 3 offshore bombardments, this battle is now in my favor so I went for J2 Calcutta Crush and it was surprisingly easy. Lost 3 ground units and two planes.
If UK bought nothing but infantry turn one, instead of fighter + infantry, I may not have went for it.

@GeneralHandGrenade How does Middle Earth look at end of Japan Turn 2. Would you still buy naval base and complex turn two for UK? Japan lacking in ground forces but they now have a factory

Early 1940

Germany

The Kriegsmarine launches the “Graf Zepplin” along with a couple U-boats and a Transport. Waffen Units fill out their Build.

The Allied Fleet in 110 was sunk and in 111 damaged, which the Germans retreated from.
In a surprise move, France was heavily attrited but not conquered.

Russia

The Soviets max produced Landmines as well as 2 Engineers. 2 Paratrooper Divisions also form in Moscow.

They begin to concentrate in Novgorod, Bryansk and Caucasus.

Japan

Nippon invests in an Air Transport, a Naval Transport, 2 Engineers and 2 LCV’s. They conduct standard attacks against China.

USA and China

The Americans destroy the Facilities in the Philippines and max build Fortifications there. The rest of their income is spent strengthening their Navy, including the launch of the USS Iowa in the Pacific.

The Chinese successfully counterattack in Yunnan.

UK

The British build a Factory in Egypt and repair the damaged Battleship HMS Hood. Singapore Harbor is destroyed and the rest of their resources are spent on the Army.

Their only combat is to sink the Italian Ships off Malta.

Italy

Italia buys 2 LCV’s and a Paratrooper. They conduct combats against Greece, Tunisia, the French Ships in 93 and most importantly, a weakend Paris.
All attacks succeed.

The Regia Marina concentrates in 97, while the UK Med Fleet is in 92 off Gibralter.

ANZAC and France

ANZAC builds a Transport and Infantry. They begin to take Custodianship of Dutch Islands.

The French make some minor non combat moves.

Agreed for the most part. I will add to those who haven’t played the game that the full effects of the Joe income advantage don’t come into play until the 5th or 6th round, so Cobra have around half of the game to try to eke out a victory.
