quack. no non-nuclear proliferation ideas? just the lame argument " the west has them and America used them"? anything that counters the policies of the US is “good”. who cares if there are atom bombs everywhere,eh? as long as it pisses off those dumb Americans, thats all its aboot. Iran just wants energy. You cant be that naive…or dumb…can you? :|

RE: Italian Strategies
I think the Italians are better suited to staying in Europe, even if it means getting only 9 IPCs per turn. Three men per turn will beef up France considerably. Trying to duke it out with the Allies in Africa is a distraction, sure, but when DDay comes, you will miss those troops.

RE: USSR Turn 1
in 41’, abandon the Karelian units to Archangel on R1 or they will just be destroyed next turn. None of Russias builds will go there so its strategically necessary to retreat. I dont think its worth losing these units to try and prevent the Germans from getting one of their NOs. The IPC value of Karelia is meaningless to Russia at this point in the game so they can just give it up.

RE: Fighter Swarm
its worth giving up the Russian NO to have an Allied air force in Russia…one less Russian tank per turn is irrelevant compared to having bomber/fighter units from the Allies on Russia for attack and defense.

RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A
Krieghund–there are too many posts to filter through to see if this has already been asked so sorry for a repeat.
Scenario: Japan builds a factory on Manchuria. The U.S captures the factory and holds it. Can they–the US-- now build units there? Does China still get the territory bonus towards its infantry count plus the ability to place men on Manchuria? thx in advance

RE: Axis/Ally Win Loss Compile
are you saying that you roll an AA shot every round of combat when you play AA50? hmmm…thats an old W@W rule. Did you adopt this as a house rule of yours?
-
RE: Axis/Ally Win Loss Compile
Actually in that game, it all started with a Russian AA Gun in Round 4 with 100% accuracy against about a dozen German aircraft resulting in a loss for Germany in Moscow
whaaat?!?! :-o get the front door…you rolled twelve ones? that is incredible!! that is pure luck and will never happen again in your lifetime!!

RE: Conservative Germany
OOE says:
USA
Spend everything against Japan. Russia should have the manpower to hold out for some time on the eastern front.absolutely and this goes for any scenario really. Japan cannot be allowed to just run rampant in this edition without being threatened somehow and that threat needs to come from the US. To the point though,a conservative Germany in the first couple of rounds isnt a bad idea either. As a matter of fact it, I have done it and it worked out great. The Axis won that game resoundingly in a massive showdown between Germany and Russia…but thats another story.

RE: AA50 1941 w/NO - Allied Allways Win
off topic…
“KGF” or “KJF” should be just “KG” or “KJ”,right? How many axis players keep going after Germany is defeated or vice versa?

RE: Tanks from Egypt to Trans-Jordan
yes. you can move land/air units from Egypt to TransJordan and vice-versa like normal. if you want to use the canal for your ships, however, you must control both of these spaces.

RE: Japan Basic Strategies, Concepts and Ideas
In the games I play, subs serve a valuable purpose tactically,at least for Japan and the US. I usually commit the US to attacking Japan and re-capturing the island chains. This forces Japan to fight for the economically vital islands in the SW Pac. The subs lurk around the in ones and twos, trying to stay outside the range of any destroyers and looking for a chance to slip through the islands and attack unprotected ships, mainly transports and carriers of course. They are also bait. The layout of the islands and the way they are connected offers a lot of possibilities to maneuver. To just say they are valueless is short-sighted.

RE: Russian Sacrifice Strategy
all is pure speculation until its tried…I say: Mike give it a shot. I will try it the next chance I get. I like to mix it up and I am not afraid to lose a game. After all,no one will actually die. This isnt reality but plastic and cardboard.

RE: How many times have you played AA50?
more than 6 and less than 10 :|

RE: Second Thoughts
AA50 is the best in the series IMO. My brother and I have played about eight games (with Techs and NOs in about half of them) and they have all been pretty intense, with the Allies winning about five of those. I could do without the Techs but I really enjoy that extra cash from the NOs,especially for Russia. Subs, cruisers, unit costs, tranny rules,China, new territories–love them all. The worst thing about it?–the 3 piece board!! I hate that Fukien thing. But still… I give AA50 nine out of ten stars.

RE: AA50 Rules Errata and Q+A
Can a transport offload onto two different territories that share the same sea zone? the rule seems ambiguous.
