Seems to me a complete round of play is pretty self explanatory. When every team has gone 1 time, that is obviously a complete round. If Germany takes the final VC and every team goes without taking a VC back, axis win. If Italy takes the final VC and every team goes without taking a VC back, axis win. Same formula for all other countries.

RE: Rule clarification regarding submarines
Thanks. Its amazing to me that everytime we play, which is quite a bit, we always seem to come across some new rule (different to how we had been playing anyway). Thats what makes this game so great.

RE: Rule clarification regarding submarines
What if Germany has a sub sz 110 and some more navy in sz 112. Us has a full navy in sz 91. Can the us send a destroyer to the sub and the rest of the navy (w/o a destroyer since I believe they can’t pass subs) to sz 112 to take out the German navy in the same combat move OR do I have to leave the sub alone and take all navy aside from destroyers to sz 112. Please clarify if any of this is wrong, right, or kind of right.

RE: Russia is going down
I ended up having 9 tanks in the middle east ready to help if calcutta got taken over… when that was stopped ( by crazy dice) I was able to move those 9 tanks with 4-5 ground troops into Caucasus. Germany takes Russia with no real shot at moving on to the south and UK Europe is collecting 52. I finally won but it was mostly because I was at least 50% on my 2’s through most of the game. A win is a win for me:) 3 out of about 15.

RE: Russia is going down
Thats what I thought but I lose to the same guy all the time so just trying to find some way to sneak one past him. Not that it will change the outcome in any way. thanks again!

Russia is going down
Rules question here. Russia is about to get taken over by germany in my current game. I will be flying a UK airplane into russia to stop a couple bonuses for russia since germany will be getting all the money anyway. The question is…. If my UK airplane is in a russian territory when russia is taken over, will those IPC’s go to the uk or do you have to have ground troops take them over. I know that planes can’t land on territory that is not friendly or territory taken over in that turn but this rule will determine where I land that plane.

RE: Carrier Question
Cool. Makes sense but I think (not that it means much) that planes on a carrier don’t defend in the air unless there is something to defend against. I’m new here but I’ve been reading for well over a year and I appreciate all the info given! Thanks!

Carrier Question
I posted this in the Europe 1940 section but this seems to be a bit more active with readers so I will post it here as well.
In the Ed.1 manual it states that defending carriers planes are considered to be defending in the air. It also states that units trapped on a damaged carrier cannot participate in battles or move until the carrier has been repaired by a friendly naval base. I was always under the assumption that when a sub attacks a loaded carrier that… 1) if it only scores one hit and damages carrier then the planes are trapped until it can get back to a friendly naval base 2) If it scores two hits then carrier and all cargo are lost since they don’t participate in battle against subs w/o a destroyer present. If this is not the case then it seems to me that there is no way for cargo to get trapped on a carrier?

RE: Kamikaze rule question…
I believe they can only be used where there is a kamikaze symbol in the sea zone. Phillipines is the only non Japanese sea zone that one is located in.

RE: Strait/Canal Question
Soooo…. NO! Thanks for the quick response!

RE: Strait/Canal Question
Can russia move their navy out through the danish straight while they are not yet at war with germany?

RE: Kamikaze rule question…
Just for clarification, doesn’t it also state that Kamikazes can only take place when one of the four islands (phillipines, iwo jima, marianas, or okinawa) are captured or reacaptured. Since the US still owned the Phillipines and were not recapturing it, wouldn’t that mean that the kamikaze could not be used?
