Im selling a bundle of A&A50 + Revised. Both sets are 100% complete, and both games have been opened but never played. (Revised pieces are still in the sealed plastic)
PM if interested or for additional info and pictures.
Fair price in mind and ready to ship.

So I go to half price books and there are 5 copies of the A&A PC game, I purchase 2 despite already owning the game and am considering going back and buying the remaining three
tripleA rocks.
the only knock is the weak AI, but single player games are not its focus. having the ability to play solo in any capacity for a free open source project intended for online play is really a bonus imo
not being able to configure a firewall is a user issue, especially when they explain (for the non tech savvy) how to configure your firewall on their website. in these instances the question should be, why dont I know how to operate my firewall, not why cant the game configure my firewall for me.
The GameMaster line is a must play for A&A fans who havent heard or played them…
Conquest of the Empire
Fortress America
epic games.
sadly Fortress America is out of print and had been for some time. used copies go for 100-125, factory sealed can go for 200-250.
1. AAR
2. Classic, 2 ed.There is such a gulf between the two that its almost not worth comparing them to me. My old game sits in its box and we wont touch it even if we want to play A+A, there is just no reason for it anymore. I think I am going to just scrounge the units out so that we can replace eventual losses in the new board.
Im assuming AAR is revised, and do they actually sell a Classic 2ed anymore? I didnt see anything other than Revised, Anniversary and the offshoots (D-Day, Europe etc) at my local shop.
Im not sure what version I was playing as a kid but im pretty sure it was the original GameMaster 84 version. Is 2ed clearly labeled as such or that just classic with a revised rule book?
haha, just bought Anniversary. get this, im taking the pieces out of the cases and getting things in their trays ready for gameday this weekend and I turn around and my dog is chomping on the edge of the cover box!!! 100 bucks and the corner of one box is ripped off. what a bummer. (though at least she wasnt munching on the board!)
anywho, im going to get revised this weekend as well. found a cool shop that has all the versions and im going to pick one up each week until I have the complete set!
Hey everyone. Just getting back into A&A after a long hiatus. Exciting that there are two new versions of the game since I last played. (revised & anniversary)
Anyways im trying to figure out which of those versions to get (should I play them in order of their release or skip right to Anniversary) im also considering going back any getting some of the offshoots like D-Day and Europe etc…
But I wanted to see how the hardcore players rate them. So if you guys have some time can you rate the games in order of personal preference, 1-9? (i got nine by including the miniature game) Maybe a brief explanation of why you rate the top one or two so high and maybe an explanation of why you rate the bottom two so low)
And not so much by series importance, but current level of interest in playing. (otherwise id assume Classic would win out, which is fine if that’s still the version you like playing most)
Thanks in advance. Im going to be ordering quite a few versions this week and wanted to get opinions from people that matter!
thanks daggaz!
should i buy the Revised or Anniversary edition of the game?
which do people like more?
Thanks audacity.
My plan was to buy the Euro Front, North Africa and 39-45 starters and boosters but I can only find the 39-45 starter and booster, but for Euro Front and North Africa they only sell boosters. (only pieces and cards no maps) I also went to all the links on the wizards site and couldn’t find anyone that sold those starters. Any help here would be appreciated.
So I should get Base Starter & Booster Set. Will Do.
Im thinking of getting the D-Day set as well.
If I need 2 or 3 more boosters beyond those, which do you recommend?
Maybe I should get another scenario pack as well, whats better Eastern Front, North Africa, 39-45?
thanks for the quick response. what do you personally recommend first?
if they all work with each other besides War At Sea, im assuming the difference between Eastern Front, North Africa 39-45 and D-Day are just different maps and scenarios?
If so which is the funnest?
Are you limited to the amount of pieces you buy or are there chips for pieces like the board game?
Hey guys. Never played a miniature game before and was thinking of getting one to play around with. (perhaps it would not be so daunting to the GF!)
Anywho I can figure out what to buy or what goes with what. Eastern Front 41, North Africa 40, 39-45 Starter Pack + Booster, Expanded Rules, War At Sea, Reserve Booster Pack, New Starter Pack, D-Day Booster Pack, Contested Skies Booster, Set II Booster Pack, Base Set Starter, & Booster….
Are all of the games tied to each other in some way. Are pieces for one good for another?
What should a newcomer to the miniature series get? They look cheap so I could get a bunch of them if needed, I just want to make sure im getting the right stuff.
BTW, im assuming these mini games are somewhat similar to the standard games.
Thanks in advance
Thanks for the responses and link to the manual!
Wow, what changes to Tanks and the addition of artillery. Is the infantry push tactic still the prevailing method or are players incorporating more tanks into the fold?
Also has the new spaces evened the game out for the Axis? It seems from a glance and not playing perhaps the new spaces in eastern russia would make it even more difficult for Japan to pressure Moscow. Also the British navy at Aus could delay the push. The no move neutral spots seem troublesome for German advance in Africa.
Do the Allies have any problems with the new setup. Germany is on Moscow but that space looks like it could be easily taken on round 1. Im assuming the Russian dont attack first is waived for this game.
Is the axis still forced to bid or the game really even?
Hello everyone.
Played A&A off and on for 20 years now and got back interested in the game when I saw the release of both Revised and Anniversary editions.
I was going to start a game of Revised using TripleA but was unclear on some of the new rules and pieces.
1. Subs
A. They can move under enemy fleets as long as the enemy fleet doesnt have a Destroyer?
B. First attack. They have some sort of first attack capability, whatever they hit with that first roll does not have the ability to counterattack unless its a destroyer or sub?
C. Can a sub submerge avoiding a fight? IE, if I were to be attacked by a battleship can I submerge before the attack role or do I have to survive the first role?
2. Destroyers
A. There capabilities to bombard and transport are are through tech developments only?
3. Artillery
A. Does it move into battle or is it immobile and supports attacks against adjacent territories?
4. Carriers
A. So you can only develop fighters on a carrier as it is initially being placed?
Thanks in advance! Cant wait to try the new game. i wont bother with Anniversary until I get these rules down.
BTW, what are fans preferences between Revised and Anniversary? Revised on the surface looks like an improved and enhanced version of Classic. Anniversary seems like an entirely different monster!
Also, is there a place to download the manual for Revised?
Hello everyone,
First post. Played my first A&A game as a kid if the late 80’s. Stopped playing in the early 90’s and was re-introduced with the game with the PC version in the late 90’s. Since then i go through phases on interest in little spells once a year. Long lost my PC version (just bought one from Ebay!) and have been in recent times using TripleA.
Anywho I got back in my A&A phase and see so many new developments in the board game (Revised and Anniversary Editions) and just realized a fe minutes ago TripleA has a Revised map but my question at last is there any plans to do a formal PC release of the Revised and even Anniversary editions?
As good as TripleA is, the AI is very week. (which they readily acknowledge as the only option is “Easy AI”) Ive longed for a new PC game not only for the new rules but also tougher AI. The AI can never cope with standard strategy “infantry push mech” and is not very sound with dead zone concepts.
Just wanted to see if anything is in the works.
Also if I may, are there any essays or published strategies for the Revised game? I used to love reading Don Rae’s strategies for the Classic game and would like to find something similar for the Revised version. (which i plan to start playing now)
BTW, what do fans prefer Revised or Anniversary? They look much different, what is kinda the default game for fans these days? Is Classic Dead?
Thanks in advance! Glad I stumbled across the site.
