RE: What exactly are tanks good for?
What if, once you reached a threshold number of tanks on attack (say 3) you can make combat last an extra round. Or for every 3 tanks on attack you can make it last an extra round each. This would symbolize the tanks ability to make a breakthrough when amassed.

An attempt to retake Smyrna results in the games first wipe-out, as the tt is left empty by mutual destruction. The running sore of Montalbania is finally healed.
So in this scenario, if the territory was contested instead of just occupied, after a mutual destruction would the territory revert back to Ottoman control and it would get the IPCs?

I noticed the allies went through the bosphoros straights and dropped off units in Romania. Is that allowed in the rules? If so, it would seem the CP have to really worry about Gallipoli style landings everywhere.

On question: is it worth making part of the assault on Venice amphibious so you get the battleship bombardment roll?
Don’t you then risk losing those amphibious units to an artillery first strike? Better to just have them invade by land if they can.

It seems like the U.S. as a playable nation might just not work in this game. Playing as US would probably be as fun as playing China in global.
I would suggest just dropping US as a playable nation. Have the U.S.'s role in the game be extra IPCs to either france/UK and/or ever increasing automatic infantry that gets deployed to the front. This would start after the US declaration of war.
Honestly, I can’t blame LH from including the US but functionally it doesn’t make alot of sense in the game.

We haven’t really talked about spending some of your initial buys on tech.
It was my understanding that tech dice do not go away until you successfully research something, so what about spending 5IPCs on the first turn so you always have a tech roll?
