Battle of Uncle Archery German turn 1
Attack on Belorussia
https://imgur.com/a/86stRSSAttack on Karelia 3 German Infantry and one fighter attacking one lone grunt, all German infantry destroyed, Russia retains control of Karelia. 5 rounds of rolls not a one to be rolled for my infantry nor a 3 for my fighter in 5 rounds.

@Imperious-Leader Infantry and artillery on defense, fantastic on a 2 or less, infantry and artillery on offense…nope

RE: 🎲😢 PRNG dice support group — and ranting
@Brian-Cannon I just made an attack on Transjordan, 4 infantry, 1 tank, 2 fighters, 1 artillery and a battleship vs. 2 infantry, 1 tank, 1 arty and 3 fighters. Offensive rolls everything missed, defensive rolls everything hit. Game over. Also, I have noted the terrible hit rate of tanks or anything requiring a 3 on offense, anyone else noticed the tremendous hit rate of tanks on defense?

I play Axis almost exclusively, just a preference. I don’t know about scripted, but any game I have started in last couple weeks see a completely successful Russia turn 1. Both attacks are favored to succeed but what I find incredible is that not only do they succeed but German forces inflict almost nothing for defensive hits. Meanwhile I cant do an amphibious assault on Trans Jordan without taking a casualty if I take it at all on the ensuing amphibious assault. The miss rate on on units that require a 4 or less (Fighters, Tanks, Cruisers, Bombers, and battleships) is troubling, while infantry and artillery in defense incur casualties at an alarming rate. When was the last time you say Infantry and artillery paired on offense every equal the hit rate of say the same number of defending infantry. Both require a 2 but infantry and artillery on offense never exceeds expectations an almost always falls well below average. As Axis the only Strategic bombing is really done by Japan, the hit rate on AA defense is well beyond what would normally be expected, for every 4 bombing runs I am averaging 3 bombers shot down (multiple games). The miss rate on Shore bombardment is worse, and I cant remember when I have hit a territory with AA guns that they didnt hit at least once. If you add screenshots, you are accused of cherry picking. I cannot remember an attack I have made where my units exceeded expectations, if anything it will always be less than what calculator predicted. Like Djensen I just mass forfeited 4 different games. I just dont see a point in playing this game in its current state.

@Boston_NWO Not going to beef with you Boston. I feel the way I feel and I feel it strongly as do many others. Computer programs fail, and they do so regularly. Rather than deal with the criticism by me and many others, the developers are just banning people from discussion on it. Look at the article link above. We differ on the point and I am not going to resort to criticism for the way you feel. I appreciate some of the advice and help you have given me, and I will leave it at that.

Will they ban the author of the article from commenting as well?

How do you beat KJF?
Have had a tough time with KJF. In particular the KJF that takes aim at Borneo for the US. I find it near impossible to keep the US out without losing all of Asia in the process. Obviously as Japan you want some heavy sub buys as well as to sprinkle in a couple destroyers. In doing so you are negating any ground forces so any pushback by the British in India is tough to counter. Secondly how do you beat that US advance towards Borneo. Where do you stage your Navy, where to stage any air force.

Season 2 Rant
Genco Harris mod is purported to make things more balanced, I have heard players say even with that Axis have a big advantage. Just not seeing it. The Dice rolls on the attack for the Axis are absolutely laughable, and defending die rolls for infantry are damn near not miss. If my tanks and planes cant hit with 3’s, then Axis has no chance of winning. Christ my Battleships and bombers miss with a roll of 4. It is too easy for Soviets to just trade territory with Germany keeping its IPC income up and bleed Germany to death. Japan is so easily contained, you must do Pearl Harbor attack, otherwise the US is just going to put a factory on Alaska and you are in a naval arms race that you will ultimately lose and you can put zero pressure on Allies. Season 2 has been ridiculous so far.

RE: Anyone seen a Allied Strategy like this? ...
@erinmores I still have every one of the tanks plus a couple that Germany starts with. My thought is the fighters will hurt but he has very little fodder. He just lost two Russian fighters sinking my Med Battleship. Tanks will come but I still have German bomber, and all German fighters, so am I building up a horde of infantry. His last turn he bought all infantry for Russia.

Anyone seen a Allied Strategy like this? ...
… Russia First turn purchase 2 fighters, Brit 1st and 2nd turn purchase 3 fighters (each turn), American first turn 4 fighters?
I am hoping my Infantry heavy buys and slow infantry push will win out. Seeing so many fighters on the board can be a bit anxiety inducing. Russia 2nd turn all tanks, America 2nd turn 3 fighters and a destroyer. Crazy train

RE: 1942 2nd Edition (Steam) Genco Harris version
Axis first turn (situational of course) Hitting the north sea fleet? If the Russian sub is there do you go in with all subs, 2 fighters and cruiser? or do you send one sub to hit Americans or Brits in North America?
German purchase round 1, my standard purchase if Russia wins the Ukraine and West Russia battle is 11 infantry and 2 arty, If they dont hit Ukraine I usually buy an additional bomber and the rest infantry, not sure about this mixed results especially with the way AA rolls seem to hit, but sometimes I find the additional bomber to be useful in keeping Allies buying escorts for the their transports, and possible offensive action in Africa.
My standard attack with my battleship and transport in the med is to hit Transjordan, take out destroyer with battleship. If I have my bomber I hit transjordan with it and 2 Infantry, if I dont have bomber I hit it with one Inf and one arty. Presuming your battleship and transport survive round 1 do you ever reinforce Africa? I have seen numerous posts saying dont send any additional forces to Africa?

RE: 1942 2nd Edition (Steam) Genco Harris version
@Boston_NWO Do you recommend abandoning France from round 1? Saw a couple tough Allied strats in round 2 of the online season. The one I remember most is Russian just does mass attack on round 1 on West Russia, leaves big stack there with Ten Infantry Russian Tank force, and arty. He left a grunt in Caucusus which I could take on round 1 but wouldnt hold (I did take). I was able to take Karelia but allies never let me hold it I would take it on then lose it to either Russia on their second turn or British Amhib assault. My first turn purchase with Germany was to buy Infantry and additional bomber. I was out of Africa buy German third turn, and believe my battleship and transport was destroyed on British first turn.

RE: Starting to lose my mind with this game
@DoManMacgee I used to buy industrial complex in Manchuria first turn, but have seen strategies that make this useless. I go with transports first as they make an immediate impact, in later turns I do usually build an industry in Manchuria. My Pearl Harbor attack is a spoiling attack, I do not send in my carrier. It is an attack for defensive purpose only as it keeps the US fleet from massing up in Alaska and threatening home island of Japan or even Manchuria.
-
RE: Starting to lose my mind with this game
@DoManMacgee You are the only person to recommend two tanks a turn for Germany. 99% of people I hear say you shouldnt be buying tanks until later rounds. I kind of agree with later advice because Germany starts with a lot of tanks. I have always practiced measured aggression with Germany (dice truly suck in online game anything that needs a 3 or less will not hit :( ). As far as Japan, I always do Pearl Harbor, depending upon what British fleet does round 1 I assess my buy of units. I usually buy 2 subs and possibly up to two transports to start ferrying units to mainland Asia. I also try to assess what Allied strategy is, are they going Kill Japan first or Germany so I have to try and react to that, my main goal with both Germany and Japan is to pressure Moscow.

RE: Starting to lose my mind with this game
Ok, so where do you initially position your units after the Soviet move? Poland or Baltic states? As far as Dead Zone In Northeast Europe and France, how do you achieve that? By keeping all your fighters in Germany or Karelia? I feel like I have to keep a stack of fighters in Karelia to keep it from the eventual amphib assaults from UK and Britain. I am assuming that you arent garrisoning France with anything significant, and if you are constantly trading France with either US or Britain, how do you send forces east towards Russia? As far as Battleship and transport to Ukraine, I can understand that initial move, I sometimes do as well, but by doing so you are most likely forfeiting it to airstrike in the next round. Sorry for the ignorance, guess I am still learning this variation of A&A, I am far more experienced on the initial version.
