Scam
I received an email entitled “Letter of Relationship and Establishment Aid” tonight purporting to be from a member of axisandallies.org attempting to solicit my help in transfering funds from Africa.
I’m sure everyone here knows such emails are scams, but just to reiterate in case anyone else here received the same email, “I need help transfering funds from Africa” is a very common email scam.

RE: New odds calculator
http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa/aa_odds_grapher_install.exe is an actual odds calculator (rather than simulator) I wrote that mostly works (there’s a bug with heavy bombers and first strikes from subs I never got around to fixing).
The help file has the formulas, etc., I used.

Hasbro/Microprose CD-ROM Club
There seems to be a mistaken impression on these boards that internet play with Hasbro’s A&A CD game is dead.
http://www.axisandalliesworldclub.com is a very active club devoted to playing Hasbro’s A&A CD over the internet. We have patches that address some of the bugs in the game, as well fixing the problem it had with DirectX versions above 8.1.
We play on the WarZone, a replacement for the MSN Gaming Zone we wrote ourselves, which can be downloaded at http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa/WarZone.html .
On weeknights we average about 30 players looking for a game at any give time, with 60+ on weekends. We have various ratings systems, team and league play, and various different rulesets we use.
We’d invite any of you with Hasbro A&A CD-ROM to come join us. The site is run by dedicated A&A players, and of course is completely free.

RE: CDROM help II: Attempting to start the turn ….

http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa has a patch that will fix this.

RE: Help please with multiplayer using CDROM
There is a patch for the multiplayer game at http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa that is needed to play Hasbro’s A&A with the latest versions of DirectX.
http://www.axisandalliesworldclub.com is a site devoted to playing the Hasbro version online–you can find information on getting it to work as all, as well as find online games, there–check the message boards at that site.

RE: Multiplayer games with Microprose PC game
Fortunately, Imperious’s information is incorrect.
We have a very active club playing the Hasbro/Microprose A&A online at http://www.axisandalliesworldclub.com .
The Microsoft Gaming Zone recently dropped A&A, so we now play at the WarZone– http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa/WarZone.html .
We have addressed the XP incompatibilities Imperious mentioned, as well as some other bugs in the Hasbro game, with a patch that can be downloaded from http://home.centurytel.net/khb/aa/ .
