I think in the long term you may have me. I took way too long to get a coherent strategy going and losing the British fleet in the Atlantic may have cost me the game. I’m not entirely confident Russia will hold out despite the fact that the Pacific is more or less a stand still right now. I know the victory conditions pretty much requires all of one side’s VC despite the fact I’m confident you’ll never take London, I don’t think I can take Germany if Russia falls. I planned on playing till Russia falls. I’m at least pleased with the outcome of my second game.

Yeah, I must have missed something in my test runs with Russia. Initially I hadn’t planned on holding Stalingrad, but I ran a bunch of tests to see if it was possible. When some of the test turns turned up it was possible I changed my mind. Obviously, I didn’t do something correctly on the live turn.
I wasn’t trying to win those battles in the Pacific just get those ships and planes off the board as I saw the trade worthwhile. Taking planes and possibly ships would have changed what I had to invest with Britain in future turns to contain Japan.
I didn’t execute Europe at all well. I tried to do everything slowly instead of choosing a point of attack when I needed to. I don’t have too much experience with that version of the game and didn’t recognize that I didn’t have the time to methodically build up more forces.

I certainly missed something. Weird part is I redid that turn about a dozen times offline to ensure I had enough to defend Russia, but I clearly didn’t count something. I won’t be able to take Russia back. GG and well played!
