Hello! Many thanks for your early reply. I just tried again and effectively it worked! I’m absolutely not sure about why it didn’t work when I tried before.
Best regards, S.

Hello! Maybe I missed something in the rulebook but as far as I understand generally any major Industrial Complex can go in territories worth 3 or more. Such a territory must be an originally owned territory. Why doesn’t TripleA let me build as Japan a major IC in Korea (territory is orignially owned by Japan)? Many thanks in advance for your help. Best regards, Stefan
Thanks for the answer. This is what I’m thinking too but missing a clear reference in the rulebook I had to accept the opposite in the game. Is there a clear reference in the rulebook regarding naval bases in this question?
Hello
I played a game with a colleague with the classic board game (not over the internet). We came to about round 7 when finishing (late evening…). Both made bigger mistakes I think but the situation on the board still seems unclear to me. For this reason we saved the map.
IPC are indicated on the board (please see annexe). Next to move is Germany. Maybe round 8.
I would be interested in your thoughts about who may be in the lead (and why). I would appreciate any thoughts. :-D
Kind regards
ste
PS: One question coming with the game: a naval base can be used in non combat move if conquered in the same round? (important for Gibraltar…)
before GER 8.AAM
Interesting thoughts, but in my opinion the psychological effects are overestimated. Due to the fact that strategic games are lost maybe about 90% of the games due to tactical mistakes good players of strategic games meet the tactical threats on the board first and then maybe think about the strategy of the opponent (in most games strategy will only be a side note). As in my forum-thread can be seen it is not at all easy to conduct a successfull Sea lion by using all strength from Germany (and maybe Italy). In the case of a Sea lion light UK can (and hopefully will) answer to the threats on the board easily.
However I agree with your thoughts taken as a whole that a threatend Sea lion is not required to be conducted. But then shift full force into Barbarossa (or whatever else opportunities you have).

Thanks for the whole discussion. It shows me that Sea lion isn’t that clear as it maybe looks like. Especially the virtual game from jim and its discussion shows many interesting points.
:-D
Thank you for your answer.
If you don’t kill the fleet beneath the Canadian coast the English transport there can bring 2 more units from Canada to UK for defense. For this reason I think it is recommended to kill that fleet too.
The question for me is the decisive difference. In the past we’ve tried Sealion 3 times and we’ve followed your rules to a large extent (maybe bought too less transport ships on G2). But it doesn’t seem to be enough. If UK buys only ground forces, our gameplay does not seem to be sufficient to conduct a successful Sealion. :|
Could someone give some details to be successful? Maybe a game played online annotated here?
Kind regards
Stefan
Hi,
I’ve read several times that with OOB-Rules a sealion against UK is easy with the Axis. Unfortunately I’ve no idea and I didn’t find a game or post with more detailed information how to set up (buys / combats / tips & tricks) for the sealion. :?
Is there already a thread explaining how to successfully conduct sealion in detail with OOB-rules?
If no, would someone be so kind as to explain it (not necessarily every step, but if possible a bit more than “it is no problem if you focus on that target”)
Thanks & kind regards
Stefan
The british counter attack against Egypt in the first UK-round is possible with 3 inf, 1 fgt, 1 bmb (no more units can participate in this battle).
Simple question: If you take the bomber into the EGY-battle, where should it land? It seems to me a high risk to loose the bomber later because there is no good space to land the bomber who already travelled 5 spaces from GBR to EGY.
How do you decide? Do you take the bmb to EGY-counter and if yes where do you land the bomber?
Thank you all for this lively discussion. I think that a suitable counter to this German move (no ships purchase and attack in WMD with BB, trn, sub and some air) is the purchase of 3 fighter for UK. Then collect US und UK ships in CEL (sz 8) and groundtroops in UK. Then bring the Russian sub to AZO stopping the German med-fleet to enter the Atlantic ocean.
Although I don’t like buying anything else than ships and inf playing this game (for axis side and allies side) I think that in this special situation the purchase of 3 fgt is legitim because it can be used against the German ships first and after against the German groundtroops. Last but not least it can be used for defense in MOS if really necessairy.
One further question belonging this topic: How is it if Germany does not buy the carrier. This means that Germany did not spend any money in the sea but made the same attack with the med-fleet in WMD (and took Gibraltar). The attack on EGY is again only with the bid plus some air from Germany.
How would you react? What are good counters in this case? Maybe the same moves as already mentioned? I would prefer to spend less money in the sea with UK in this case. The immediate attack against the German Baltic Navy is on the other side very very risky.
Thanks for replies!
Stefan
@Bunnies P Wrath
Thank you for your reply!
Only some minutes ago I saw your answer! I just didn’t analyze it til now but will do that as soon as possible!
@ DarthMaximus
Thank you for your explanations!
Do you leave the Allied ships in the first round safe from the German fleet (f.e. US in Sz1 and UK in Sz 2) or do you unify them in Sz 8 with reinforcing UK by US troops (not only fgt and bmb)?
If you leave the Allied ships out of range of the German fleets in Rd 1, do you avoid a German 2 attack onto GBR by blocking the med-fleet with the Russian sub?
Dear AAR-player
Simple question: What is the allied counter against a German try to unify the fleets and menace to take GBR? I have posted an ABattleMap with the real situation I had in a game (sorry right now it seems not to be possible to post. I will try to post the file later). In the game I could win with GER2 after a very bad continuation by the Allied player who missed to defend GBR sufficiently.
Abstract:
Wanted: Correct Allied Counter-Strategy :?
Thanks for replies !

Hello Torment
As it is a dice game, you can be lucky with everything, but …
Russia: Seems OK for me.
British: India factory is not a good option. This factory can be overrun by Japan in round 3, if you are not fully going KJF, and you are clearly not doing this by your suggestions. I miss the buildup of the navy. Even if Germany does not reinforce in the Baltic you need more Navy as British in my opinion.
USA: Same point as for the British. I miss the buildup of the navy. This is very important for the US to participate in the game.
For the Tech’s maybe some more experienced player could answer the question if it is sensefull to Tech in such an early stage of the game. In my eyes it doesnt make sense.
Sorry for my Englisgh. It is not my native language.

Now, add in a Unified UK fleet in Sz 30, you can have additional troops land on Africa’s eastern coast in rd 2 or 3 depending on how brave you are on having loading trns sitting in Sz 30.
I am very interested in a KJF, even though I’ve never played it. I am not very experienced in A&A anyway. I would like to ask you one thing: I’ve seen the KJF-game between DarthMaximus and Akreider2. Now there are after the UK1-move 2 fleets in the pacific: The US-fleet in Pearl and the UK-fleet in Couldn’t it be better to try to take out the british fleet and leave Pearl Harbour or was the counter of Akreider2 (more) correct to make Pearl and leave the UK-fleet in the south sea between Australia and India alive?
Thank you for taking this topic again after a long time.
Stefan
