Xeno Games' Europe at War
We want to give this a try, but the rules leave a lot to be desired as they are somewhat ambiguous or problematic as written. Is there a FAQ anywhere or a newer rules version than mine (2.1)?

@barnee looks interesting, we’ll give that a try, albeit only the Europen side of things

Global 1942 scenario - European side
In order to have all players in on the action right away, we’ve played Europe with the setup for 1942 Global a few times now.
The only thing we’ve changed is the turn order, putting the US behind GB like in Europe. Which is beneficiary to Germany, but still we’ve found in nigh impossible to win with the Axis.
Main gripes are the few German troops standing on the Eastern front after the first turn and hardly any Infs on the Eastern front in Action until turn 4, pressuming you build a lot turn 1. So trading is very difficult for Germany, and you always have many high cost units at risk. Now I’ve posted this in the Global forum, because I assume the number of players having played the Globbal 42 variant is much higher than the ones haveing played “Europe 42”, and what helps in the global variant also helps when playing Europe only.
What do you do as the Axis on the European side in Global? Just hope Japan puts enough pressure on the Allies so the US have to spend their income mainly in the Pacific?

RE: Global 1942 Scenario by Larry Harris
@Panther Sure, it is just the only standard A&A Edition I’m aware of, that features opposing forces in the same territory at setup.
Sino-Sovjet Pact - darn, that’s WarRoom. Sovjet-Mongolian Defense Pact from the Global40 rules is what I meant
thanks for answering

RE: Global 1942 Scenario by Larry Harris
It says so in the setup, just seems a bit weird, as well as the Japanese sub together with the US fleet starting in the same sea zone.
Another question, does the Sino-Sovjet Pact still apply or are Japan and Russia at War. The rules state
“ALL Powers begin the game AT WAR. Both the Soviet Union and the US may attack anyone from the onset of the game.”
which doesn’t sepcifically adress this, but it reads like no penalty for attacking JAP/USSR -
RE: Global 1942 Scenario by Larry Harris
Hi,
I’ve got two questions
Is Celebes really still British or is that a typo?
And will this setup also work for Europe/Pacific alone?
It sounds like the Europe side leans very much towards the Allies, whereas Japan is favored in the Pacific- -

Muenchen: Mitspieler fuer A&A gesucht
Servus,

RE: Wait a second… can't we just replace the multicolored stackables with pieces?
It’s not that easy, since units are assigned to command stacks and you will have more than just one commad stack in a given area, e.g. for movement purposes, since you can’t reorganize them in the moving phase. Also there is a limit of 8 units per command counter, so i.e. the Eastern Front will see multiple commad stacks battling each other.
So you’d need some measure of securely attaching the plastic units to the command counter and be able to move them without messing them up, maybe some sort of multiunit base with a command flag in the middle, replacing the counter.
Depending whom you play with, it’ll also lead to accusations as to which command stack the unit in the territory belongs/-ed to and such.
It’s going to be a hassle and need some custom components, but feel free to do it. -
RE: How long does it take for Kickstarter to take money from an account?
I didn’t even know you could back without an account.
Anyway, you can always ask the creators, they see who has backed and should be able to help you out. -
RE: Has 42.2 been superseded by Anniversary?
I’ve owned AAA since the first print run, but is has seen considerably less table time than 42.2.
Italy and China I think are more of a nuisance to play than really fun, and without NO Italy isn’t going anywhere anyway. And this might be minor, but the IC in India in 42.2 makes for far more interesting play in the Pacific and KJF is actually not completely outmatched by KGF.And out of interest
@calvinhobbesliker:It seems that at least one scenario of AA50 is mostly balanced, and 1942 is heavily Axis-favored.
Which is that, 42 with NO? Because it can’t be any of the 41s, without NO Germany is dead, with NO there is no stopping Japan.

Setup, starting ressources and units
So here is the setup, as can be inferred from the command tokens on the KS campaign page + some gaps filled with YG video.
This means:
Setup- Land units are in the correct spot in the correct number
- Ships are the correct number and if YG hasn’t blundered they are in the right spot
- Air units are completely taken from YG video (and since he has made some mistakes with the correct number of land units, this might or might not be accurate)
Starting ressources and units (albeit without air) are as current as the information on the KS page [translation: Oil, Iron, OSR, too lazy to change it]:

RE: 1941 FAQ
Didn’t want to open a new thread, so I’ll put it here
The setup in the “rules and downloads” section -8https://www.axisandallies.org/resources-downloads/axis-allies-1941-setup-chart/) for this version is wrong (according to this picture of the backside of the rules on BGG https://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/1336978/axis-allies-1941?size=original)
Western Europe has 2 Inf
England has no tank but a bomber
Szechwan has 2 Infand the revised setup is not mentioned, maybe makes sense to do so

RE: WAR ROOM - New Larry Harris Game
Yeah, it’s kind of weird that it’s not EU-friendly. I don’t know when the last time was I came across a project that was not, let alone having backed one.
Well, I backed a signature edition to help getting it funded and hope they’ll figure eu-friendliness out till the end of the campain.
Otherwise waiting for retail looks like the better option, especially since I’d really only need the core game actually.
