I loved this game too. I like the map. I wish the other games were made in this style or something close to it. The Pacific game was good too. Japan only had so much time to win it or they were hamburger. Kind of the way it really was in real life.

RE: United States Set from Historical Board Gaming!
The history channel or miltary channel had a show called Myths of Pearl harbour it was excellent. If you guys get a chance watch it. Very well done. They actually found the sub that we fired on with the shell hole in the turret. Kind a cool knowing that was the first shot fired in the Pacific conflict.

RE: Still Playin?
out of the box rules take way too long since the tournament rules have been out that is all I’ve used. I really hope for a 2nd edition too. Bigger map,a few more unit types(heavy artillery,Bombers.) and Romania and possibly Bulgaria added as individual powers. This game and Anniversary are my favorite ones.

RE: Balancing 1914
I do agree with you Flash we only play for about 6 hours. At that point we kind of come to an agreement who is the victor or call it a draw. I am with you that there should be a victory point system it would make achieving victory easier to calculate. After having multiple cocktails and the combat fatigue of playing this you sometimes lose track of what it takes for all of the countries to collapse.

RE: Balancing 1914
I know you want to fix the OOB but I have found the tournament rules even this thing up quite a bit. I do think the game would have been better with more production zones per country and more victory city’s. We have had more central victories with the tourney rules because of the collapse system that Larry has come up with. I really like this game and hope he does an upgrade with new units and a bigger map. Cool game.

RE: Wizard of the coast is sending out additional playing pieces
Got mine last week I put in the request on Dec 8th. I hope in the future this doesn’t happen again. Think of the time and manpower that was wasted fixing this when had they added a few more pieces. At least they made it right. I just wonder if this game will get a 2nd edition. I like the way it works I think the tournament rules are great. Played it 3 weeks ago with the guys looking forward to the next game.

RE: Holland
The only neutral I attack is Switzerland for the Centrals. Persia for the allies. Don’t waste units if you don’t have to. Not to mention Holland then becomes the stepping stone for the British to invade Europe.

RE: Average number of rounds per game?
Did you play with the tournament rules? I don’t think it will take that long if you do.

RE: Wizard of the coast is sending out additional playing pieces
I called them and talked to Josh and he said it would be 5 to 10 business days. It is at 10 days now curious when they will show.

RE: How long has this defective game been out & still no definitive Rules changes?
I don’t agree with Shakespeare’s point but I definitely agree that these games are leaving a lot to be desired. Not just from a rules perspective but from a piece perspective. Battle board is tiny. No money and lack of German infantry and chips for both sides. I have played with the new tournament rules however and do love them. If you have the game Shakespeare give them a shot I really like them. I think you will too.
