    • RE: Capturing Capital Questions

      @Cuyahoga:

      I see…

Now say that UK takes all their 34 IPC…

Then say the next German turn…they have no IPC on paper…so the don’t buy any new forces…they do their
combat turn…they take back Berlin…they move their IPC marker back up from 24 to 34…then they collect IPC…they record on paper they have 34 IPC ( which they hope they will have to spend on next turn).

Then the UK does their turn and they retake Berlin again…so are you saying once again they grab those 34 IPC ?

If that is so…wouldn’t Germany be digging them in a big hole as far as UK amassing a huge ammount of IPC?

      This seems an unfair rule?

      Am i still missing something?

opps , i made an error…when i said that on Germany’s first turn after losing their capital…that thay had no IPC on paper and thus could buy no new forces…that was an error on my part…because they can’t buy new forces when their capitalis occupied by the enemy…

    • RE: Capturing Capital Questions

I’m confused on the capturing Enemy Capital and collecting their Unspent IPC.

Say on Germany’s turn they have 32 IPC to spend , they spend all 32,
So they have 0 “Unspent IPC”…Now they go ahead and do their battling…
At end of their turn they mobilze the forces they had bought and then they collect IPC’s , say 34
      ( they captured a 2 IPC territory).

Then latter on the UK turn, the UK captures Berlin, does UK collect ) IPC, because Germany had 0 unspent IPC…or do they collect Germany’s 34 IPC?

Thanks for all the help you folks share!!!

    • RE: Classic first round moves - how to kill allied advantage?

Col.Stauffenberg ,  so if I follow what your’re saying…is that the Axis for you do okay when G battles in Africa and they build up on the Eastern Front, but let Japan do the attacking of Japan?

I’m new at this, but I was thinking that the Axis need to eliminate Russia, before the US can get heavily envolved in Europe.  And I was wondering if that could happen faster if G and J both attacked Russia on every turn? Maybe Japan might be in position to be more aggrasive.

      thanks for sharing your thoughts.

    • RE: Spring 1942 IPC record sheet

      A big thanks to ya.

We played our first two games and maybe it is the instruction a little vauge or maybe I’m a little too dense, but I didn’t understand thsi IPC stuff until I saw and used your sheet.

I think the manufacture of the game should include a sheet like this and in the rulebook explain with example how you add and when and carry forward these IPC’s.

Again thanks for sharing with us all!

    • RE: Panama , Mexico, Central US confusing

      where are these FAQ?

I looked at the official AA web-site and they have them listed for 2004 and 1991 releases, but not the Spring AA 2009.

      What am I missing?

      Thanks.

    • RE: Panama , Mexico, Central US confusing

When you cross from the right edge to the left edge of the board….if you measure from a set reference point  (such as crease in the board) Central US overlaps Mexico…so are you saying that Territories are not like Sea Zones in that respect?

    • RE: Questions

Not sure what you mean by health? Nothing you need to concern yourself with…the pieces are either in play or not ( on the board or removed from the board, after the battle).

The Rules Book with Spring 1942, doesn’t make any reference to Paratroopers…so forget about that ( although that would be a cool concept).

Yes the rule book is quite lengthy, but after you play a game or two , it will all start to come together.

      Good Luck!

    • Panama , Mexico, Central US confusing

Is it just me or is it just strange that you can move from Central US, directly into Panama?

I mean wouldn’t it be more correct if the map was laid out so you would have to go through from Central US through Mexico first, before arriving in Panama?

So am I seeing this correct…one can travel directly from Central US into either …EUS, WUS, Eastern Canada, Mexico, or Panama

    • RE: US Naval pound strategy – Please comment

Depends on which game you are playing…if you are playing an older version it might be okay to do this ( you will have to read your rulebook), then go ahead and use it…

but remember to post in the appropiate FORUM,  this is the Spring 1942 forum…it is  (if I’m not mistaken ) for the folks playing the version that came out August 2009 and is what is being currently sold in the stores. And they cover this in the Rulebook…only one Bombardment per Transport off-loading.
