I read this post and people have posted 2 or 3 differences in the tournament rules and the rules that came with the game. Any more that I should be aware of? If I play recreation with my friends FTF is there going to be huge differences than if I just taught them the tournament rules without them really knowing?
Germany taking over UK on G1… now thats scary!!
In my game I have going now I purchased 8 Inf and 1 CV for Sz5 on my G1 move in hopes of defending the Sz’s around Norway, etc. But what happened was on R2 the sub went to Sz6 as a sort of blockade while UK and USA navy built up and is now a huge threat to Western Germany and the only thing my German navy could attack was a lowly sub.
Anyway around that or is that the counter for a G1 CV buy? Should I have just given up Norway and moved my units out of the Baltic opening up for German invation or just build up land defense?
Just started playing Revised this year. I first played Classic in 2002 but only a couple games and I was terrible. I guess I found this forum last year sometime and have only played 1 full PBEM game… working on gettin more experience as I really enjoy strategy games and WW2 history.

Is there a standard bid for league or tournament games?
I have a game in progress right now but we are gonna switch after I lose with the Allies and I get a 7 IPC bid. I’m thinking about 2 Inf Ukraine and 1 IPC Germany.
In Richmond, VA they are selling Tshirts that have “Ignorance Breeds Ignorance. Neuter Michael Vick!” written on them!

I send enough units to take WRus with enough to defend it, and I send in enough units to Ukraine to kill everything but the fighter. I dont like taking it, because that involves leaving armor on the front without any fodder.
I just started my first game online and am playing as the allies. I ended up taking West Russia with 7 Inf, 1 Art, 1 Arm and ended up taking Ukraine with 3 Arm because I was set on destroying that fighter. I don’t really know how to strafe properly but I will try beating up on Ukraine next time instead of taking it and see what happens. I also bought 3 Inf and 3 Arm for a little more firepower.
So yeah, on Germany 1 I am sure he will roll right over my 3 Arm I have sitting in Ukraine. Didn’t really think about strafing because I gained 3 IPC and he lost a valuable fighter. Plus I got a big stack in West Russia and 3 more Arm in Russia to head right back into Ukraine on Russia 2.
What can I say, I’m a noob!
Is it really worth it to attack Australia and New Zealand if there is no more UK Navy in the Pacific? I would think you would need to use the transports and battleships and fighters, etc. for Africa or taking over India and the rest of the territories that border a seazone.

How important is it to take out a German fighter on R1? If you don’t attack the Ukraine then that leaves Germany with all 6 of its fighters. I’ve also seen a lot of differnet unit combinations purchased on R1 based on a couple of games I’ve been looking at:
8 Inf; or
5 Inf, 1 Art, 1 Arm; or
4 Inf, 1 Fig, save 2 IPC; or
3 Inf, 3 Arm; etc.
I guess it all depends on what you plan to do on R2 and what your strategery is…
