. I’m surprised this game does not get more time being advertised, it is a great strategy game that is fun and not too intense in the area of rules and stuff like that. Perfect for people that want a little more than what Risk has to offer.

    you’re preaching to the choir

  • Ya we’ve already gone over that. And by the looks of things it doesnt look like anything is going to change. Just spread the word to those who you know are fans that way we do not repeat a AA50 here.

  • Its gonna be hard not to repeat an AA50.  From what little I’ve read in the forums in just this site alone.  A lot of members are saying that you are gonning to or already pre-ordered a few copies of the game.  And judging by what the chimps will do.  They will only produce a limited number of these “deluxe” editions.  It just annoys me (this pertaining to the members of this site that have publicly announced that are purchasing multiple copies) that they will do that.  And that is your prerogative.  Last I checked it is a free enterprise out there with Ebay at your disposal.  But I don’t think its morally right in doing this action.  Those are just my feelings on this situation.  As for me I’ve told my wife that this the one thing I’m implicitly asking for this x-mas.  That will be only copy of AAP40 that I will own.  I feel that every one that is an AA player should be given the “chance” to own one of the these magnificent games.  We all know that that there will be AA players that will miss out on this.  Unless the chimps are feeling that holiday spirit and make more than last go around (which I’m sure they won’t).  So in conclusion.  Everyone that bought (or planning on) multiple copies will read later on that so an so missed out on AAP40.  You should feel that this is not right that you took their opportunity away from them.  Sorry for the long rant.  But I had to pipe up on this issue.  I felt it deemed necessary to speak for people that has this view on this topic.  A wise person once said “do on to others as you would want them to do upon you”.  I know its old fashioned, but its true.  I know I’m not perfect.  But I try to do what is right.  So please ask yourself, do you feel right in doing this.  Not just monetarily speaking.

  • Miragehunter,

People who pre-order extra copies are helping with the initial demand.
Some players will not know about the new AA40 Pacific until it is out for 6 mos. and they may not find it in stores.
People who order extra copies help with the delayed interest by occasional players who only play a couple of times per year.

This is the first time that I am pre-ordering more than one copy.
Major +Karma to the players on this site who sold extra copies of AA50 to fellow players

  • I understand your point.  But you are missing my point.  Do you think it is fair, irregardless if I’m right or wrong.  My point was a point of morality not economics.  I am asking you to answer this morally.

  • And as side note.  Do you really think the CHIMPS give a darned about us?  They are going to make the number of copies that they initially came up with.  I highly doubt that they will make more.  You all know this.  Their bread and butter is other things.  Yeah they are making money on this.  But look at the lack of advertising.  And the lack luster site they put out for this product.  If they actually gave two hoots about us.  They would of done something long ago in a galaxy far far away.  So yes i feel my point is a good one.  By the way where is the so called reprint on AA50 that we are just getting rumors on.  I say rumors cause I don’t consider it fact until I see it on the company website stating that “yes we are reprinting AA50”.  So ask yourself do the chimps really care about us?  I think not.  All they see is bananas and greed.

  • And by the way. How are you doing any favors to people by making them pay for something 2 to 3 times than the actual price.  That is not doing anyone any favors.  Especially in this economy.

  • Then you know what.  You want to give another AA player a chance to buy it.  Then sell it at a minimal profit.  Like 20 or 30 dollars more.  Then that is giving the chance.  Not at the tune of 200 or 300 dollars more.  That is wrong.  No one should have to pay that much for a board game period.  And if you do you are only in it for the money.  Not for being the gracious one to give another player the chance to get it.  And that is fact.

  • Be careful, this thread is getting near of being politics. I agree with you, mirage, but the reasons are too politic to be told in this forum (per rules I mean)

You know, economics and politics are in fact almost the same issue

  • I didn’t know about that.  But everyone perceives everything differently.  Just for the record I am publicly stating that this not a political stance.  Just a point of view.  And not to be construed otherwise.  People should be able to express their views(civilly, which i feel I have done).

  • Agreed, but they did that rule because of the big mess it happened when last presidential campaign in US. It was a lot of partisanism here and people start to get incivilized

So the mods decided stick to no politics, just to prevent

Just to the record, I gave you a +1 karma

  • Thanks for the karma. how do you give out karma? :?

  • After making 100 posts, you can do

  • Buy as many copies as you can afford

  • thats never a bad decision

  • Tell that to all those people who bought houses and are now upside down

  • That does not have anything to do with the topic?

  • lol buying board game? or buying a house? nope not much in common

  • More products in circulation are my goal and that is what is moral for me.

I knew an engineer with a simple product that he patented.  His research showed that he could produce slightly more than the pre-order amount and not be left with a lot of inventory.

More pre-orders usually mean more products in circulation.  Also, a few high priced sales usually increase supply for future products. It would not surprise me that the production amount of AA Pacific 1940 was substantially influenced by the e bay craze of AA50.

If no one pre-ordered then how much do you think would be produced? and how would future game developments be impacted?

  • @miragehunter:

That does not have anything to do with the topic?

Perhaps you people should take an economics course
