• AF = ATTACK FACTOR
    DF = DEFENSE FACTOR

    2 UNITS: ATTACKER WINS PURE

    AF (6 - DF)
    –-- X ----------
    6 6

    2 UNITS: ATTACKER LOSES PURE

    AF DF
    ---- X ----
    6 6

2 UNITS: EVERYBODY WINS (BOTH SURVIVE)

    AF DF
    ---- X ----
    6 6

2 UNITS: EVERYBODY LOSES (BOTH DIE)

    AF (6 - DF)
    ---- X ----------
    6 6

EXAMPLE: AN ARMOR (AF=3; DF=2) ATTACKS AN INFANTRY (AF=1; DF=2)

    AWP: (3/6) x ([6-2]/6) = 33.3%
    ALP: (3/6) x (2/6) = 16.6%
    EW: (3/6) x (2/6) = 16.6%
    EL: (3/6) x ([6-2]/6) = 33.3%

    TOTAL: 100.0%

    ARMOR SURVIVES 50.0%
    INFANTRY SURVIVES 33.3%
    ARMOR KILLS INFANTRY 66.6%
    INFANTRY KILLS ARMOR 16.6%

  • the html messed everythins up… just check the example then…

  • Fine for one-on-one battles, but what about battles with multiple attackers and defenders?

  • C’mon guys! I know the calculations help to figure out the outcome of a battle…but that takes away from the fun. Do you think General Patton knew exactly how many troops and tanks he’d be facing? No. He probably had an idea but nothing that he could sit down and say “nope, we wont win today…but tomorrow…” Just play the game with the knowledge in your head.

  • right on Major Damage! trial and error is the only real way to figure out long term stratagies. And who wants to do a ton of algebra (allbe it’s not that hard) before they decide on an attack.

  • Your algebra is dodgy. If you look at the possible outcomes listed it shows:-

    Armour survives 50% and
    Inf kills Armour 16.6%

What happens to the armour on the other 16.6% of these encounters??

  • I think 16% of the time saying Everyone wins is a bit dodgy. Thats saying the tank retreated.

  • that tank is a pussy
