• Only one destroyer can defend in each sea zone against missile attacks.

See how its a bit weird.
If you forgo the one-AA-per-territory-can-fire rule and unlimited-fire-per-AA rule of OOB…it’ll make a world of difference.

maybe you can use the dog fighting idea for AARHE.

We do have a dogfighting rule in AARHE.
In earlier forms, not dissimilar to your rule.

i thought only one aa gun could fire agianst each plane ( so if you had 1 aa and 5 fighters then the aa would fire 5 times same for 2 aa asn 5 figters.)

  • i like your better tekkeyy. just a little teaking

    Air units in Combat
Air unit’s fire in opening-fire fire.
While both sides have air units these air units fight with dog fighting values(2/2).
Air units’ hits must be first allocated on air units. the only exemption to this rule is that Bombers attack ground units at 3 or less but can still be hit by air units. when only one side has air units the units fight with normal combat value.

  • the above post is a problem. I have been using gdp- ppp to detrimne the worht of each terroty. but i 've discovered gdp-nominal would be more accurate. this is the above post. but it has the allies at 133 vs. axis  23 ipc. it regular axis an dallies its. 96 vs. 70 this is a very big problem and i don’t know how to solve it. does anyone have any ideas to fix this?

  • I would make a hybrid system. I feel using solely nominal or ppp don’t give good results.

At this stage whats the scope of your project? House rule? Full variant? or some what in between?

I mean you could incorporate oil or energy and use nominal for that. PPP for building infantry.

its supposed to be basically a new axis allies with a differnt setup and terrtory values with few actual rule changes. so more of a house rule i guesss.

    current changes:
    Victory cities:
    Allies : 7
    US: 3
    DC ( EUS)
    Los angles (WUS)
    Mecca ( saudia arabia)

    Europe: 2
    London ( UK)
    Berlin ( Germany)

    Japan: 2
    Tokoyo ( japan)
    Seoul ( south korea)

    Axis: 7
    China: 4
    Beijing (manchuria)
    Shanghia (Kwantung)
    Urumqi (Sinkiang)
    Jakarta (Boreno)

    Russia: 3
    Moscow ( Russia)
    St. Petersburg (karelia)
    Tehran (Persia)

    Destroyers
Destroyers also have the function to act as AA guns against Missile Strikes and Cruise Missiles Destroyers defend against these attacks at a 1 for each missile fired into a sea zone that contains destroyers.  Only one destroyer can defend in each sea zone against missile attacks.

    Bombers
They defend on a 1 during all combat including dog fighting.  Bombers can not participate in a dog fight as the attacker.  During strategic bombing bombers may be escorted (see more at scramble against bombers).  Bombers can carry 1 infantry unit into battle or in non-combat move phase.  If so the bomber cannot attack during this turn.

    Scramble (against missiles)
Fighters may defend against missiles that enter its territory on a 2 or less this includes combat and non combat movement.  This missile does not have to stop in that particular territory.  This combat only lasts 1 round.  Fighters cannot scramble if they participate in a dogfight.  They can not opt out of a dogfight either.

    Scramble (against bombers)
Fighters may defend against bombers(s) at a 2 or less.  The attacker may escort the bomber(s) with fighters.  If the attacker chooses do this it becomes just like a dog fight but only lasts for 1 round and the defender is not restricted to how many fighters will scramble.  If a dog fight is occurring in the territory the bomber(s) stop at, they just “tag” along.  They leave after the first round (when they strategic bomb) of combat and do not count towards the dog fight count.

    Missile Strike
AA guns fire 1 missile at 3 spaces or less and can target a specific unit or IPCs.  AA guns in a territory defend as appropriate.  Missile hits at 3 or less.  Destroyers defend against missiles at a 1.

Cruise missiles – Battleships can now fire 1 cruise missiles up to 3 spaces at a 4 or less.  If cruise missiles are used, the battleship cannot take part in combat.  A cruise missile can attack a specific unit or target IPC production.  AA guns in a territory defend as appropriate.  Destroyers defend at 1 for sea units.

  • Then how about…

*use average of ppp and nominal

*india and north east africa join Russia

  • @tekkyy:

*use average of ppp and nominal

that makes sense i’ll try that

    @tekkyy:

*india and north east africa join Russia

Pakistan, Persia, Egypt, East Africa, Equatorial Africa, Algeria, and Libya are in Russin control allready.

I think the americans would have to do something big to piss of the indians like that. I think if India knows  China is sided wiith russia they would jion the allies. also they wouln’t be on the same side as pakistan. INdia doesn’t like those too countries very much or bangledesh.

  • But India is quite close to Russia. But anyway no big deal.
We’ll see what the numbers are like after nominal/ppp adjustments.

its alot better now its i on the 3rd column.

  • @tekkyy:

But India is quite close to Russia. But anyway no big deal.

only resaon is that india would not jion russia if china was its ally or if pakistan was on its side. from my understandig  india was more of a russian ally in the cold war and akistan was american. but since then it is reverseing. we mangaed to piss pakistan off in afgahastan, and improve relations with india (nuclear weopons deal). india is becoming more like serouis compantion for china every day and the border of india and china is porrly planned so india and china disagree often.

  • Talk of weapaons, Russia sells India more lethal jets than they sell to China.
I guess it depends on how many neutrals you want really. (And whether you’ll have a diplomacy house rule.)

  • these are the revised rules and i’ve decided on going with tekkyy’s idea with india being on the same side as russia. thanks for the help. i reworded some of the rules too.( few changes like 1 missle for battleships now but nothing huge)

  • yeah 1 cruise missile would be better as you allow targetting of units

too many standoff attacks turn the game into nuclear warefare
which would be hardly a game

  • I just bought IMP games East /West which is WW3 in 1948. Once i get the rules… ill post some of the ideas. I think i’m gonna work on my own version of WW3.

  • You mean like the Cold War yeah?
Well I think that one was a lot more diplomactic.

  • Once i get this IMP games east & west thing… ill have a better picture.

It will be a new global map probably 1984-5 timeframe.

Using table tactics modern and risk 2010 pieces as well as normal AA pieces.

Yea diplomatic rolls and ICBM’s are in it. I want it to be possible for the world to blow up…and the survivors have to fight on… post -nuclear disaster style.

but the primary way would be by conventional means.

I just need alot of mushroom cloud plastic pieces… where you get them? Supremacy: the board game?
