Scramble to Marianas and/or z35?
-
Scramble 2 UK fighters and UK Tac to defend Marianas.
Would like to choose Allied casualties after each round.
-
Sorry, was a bit hasty with the move as I was going out. Thought I had a nb in FIC. Since I don’t the only rational use of the tr is to go to z22. Is it ok to change?
I think that the rules are that if the tr is accompanied by a warship then the defending subs may be ignored.
This is what it looks like with the change.
-
Makes sense.
I always thought, though, that an accompanying warship had to be a surface ship . (A submarine is a boat, not a ship, which has decks.) Am I again wrong about the rules?
I take it that the ANZAC subs stay and fight?
-
I’m pretty sure that it works with an accompanying sub as well. I’ll check the rules. If the sub has to fight I’ll simply bring in the other two subs as well.

Transports
[…] a transport is not allowed to offload land units for an amphibious assault in a sea zone containing 1 or more ignored enemy submarines unless at least 1 warship belonging to the attacking power is also present in the sea zone at the end of the Combat Move phase. (p 16)Step 1. Sea Combat
If there are defending surface warships and/or scrambled air units, sea combat occurs. If there are only defending submarines and/or transports, the attacker can choose to ignore those units or conduct sea combat. (p 18 ) -
Thanks for the clarification. Learn something every I play.
