Robson (X) vs Kilroynothere (A) G40 YGTE - game2 revenge of the dice gods

  • @robson Manually works for me.

  • @Robson sorry for the delay (as always in my life). Hoping this might distract you from the mess in Ukraine. Very upsetting and makes me angry, very angry. How are sentiments there?

    Scramble at Taranto?triplea_37995_1bri-scramble.tsvg

  • @kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, yes it is terrifying and horrible what happens there. This is just two hours awway with the airplane. It feels like Putin has completely lost his mind. Seems like he is trying to work on his place in the history books. We just hope he stops at the border to Poland and other eastern european countries.

  • @robson I can only imagine how all of the EU is feeling. Cold War all over again! I sincerely hope that the rest of the free world has the backbone to put in place some very severe sanctions that hurts him directly, just as they have started on his oligarchs. I believe there are only two ways of overthrowing a dictator. Military might, or allow the forces within his country do the work. That means a LOT of pain for those in power there to make a shift. Unfortunately, that will take a lot of time which Ukraine does not have.

  • @robson Making sure you noticed about the scramble order for the Italians. Posted the game as well. I know I missed your post of the game last time because of the manual method we have to use right now.

    Maximum Scramble please :-)

  • @robson Oh, this game is On! Italians did well at Taranto but lost… one British plane survives. Ouch, but have to.

  • @Robson just checking in to make sure you noticed my last post.

  • @kilroynothere just saw it a minute ago. triplea_37995_1ita.tsvg Sorry for the long delay. Will be better this week. We had spring holiday in Germany for a week. So the kids were at home and we too. Hope you are doing well.

  • @robson awesome. Hope you had fun with the family. And no worries on the delay at all. I’ll be out of pocket 12-19 for our Spring Break here in Texas. Heading to California with the family to have some fun and see some old friends.

  • @Robson The oh-so-exciting rest of the allies turn 1.

  • @kilroynothere triplea_37995_2ger.tsvg looks like another fun game

  • @kilroynothere That sounds great! California sounds like a much better place then europe at the moment. Everybody here is pretty scared about the war in ukraine.

  • @robson definitely, but I have to say that all of America is nervous as well. We feel that NATO will be forced into this one way or another and then no one really knows what happens. Scary times for Europe and the rest of the world. Was really hope we were past this phase of humanity, but clearly we are not.

  • @robson Yes, definitely another fun game. Like your opening move for Germany. Makes for some tricky decisions for the allies and gives you a lot of flexibility. Going to be fun. I’m going to try to get UKP done before I leave town, but might not make it in time.

What terrifies me is the way the debate is going on in Germany right now. Our government which consists of the socialist, green and liberal party has changed long-term foreign policy by 180 degrees. In a glimpse the chancellor decided to fund the army in germany with 100 billions Euro additional to the 50 billions which we normally pay per year. There are also many poiliticians from the whole political spectrum debating wheather we should have a more active role in the war. At least we opened the border and distribute the ukrainian refugees in all states. Till yesterday we had 5000 refugees arriving in Stuttgart only. In Berlin which is the central point of entry from Poland (central train station in Berlin) there were already 50000 people mostly woman with their kids. I just hope that somehow the war will end but I have no idea how that should happen. At the moment it seems like Putin has extremly underestimated the Ukrainian forces and people. I am afraid he will escalate the war in a way that the Nato members will not be able to not intervene anymore. Tensions are really high at the moment.

  • @robson Wow! What crazy times we live in. It does all seem a little too close to the 1940’s, doesn’t it? Different original aggressor, but similar. Basic land grab mentality on Russia’s part. Appreciate your perspective and info on Germany’s stance. We simply do not receive good international news in the US. I really have to search for it. I also fear that NATO will have no choice but to intervene here soon.

I just got back into town and am catching up with work. Hoping to get my move in here shortly. Thanks for the patience and hopefully the game can be a distraction for you during these tense times. Keep me posted on Europe’s stance as it evolves. I’m very concerned and you guys are much more in tune to the actual situation with the refugees and how NATO and western Europe is preparing.

  • @Robson Very sorry for the massive delay. Got back from Spring Break and was swamped… well, still am, but at some point you have to relax a little and have some fun! Like your Japan and your G/I openings… Making for a very interesting game. You have forced me to purchase in Australia which of course I do NOT want to do. Good work.

  • @kilroynothere Hey Kilroy, finally back to the game. Hope you are doing fine. I hope to play a little more surprising as last time :-) triplea_37995_2jap.tsvg

  • @robson I do enjoy surprising and unconventional moves in A&A. Makes for a fun game. This variant I think lends itself to that!
