G40 Gauss_Death (Allies +13) vs oysteilo (Axis)


  • Ok so it is two parts:
    Part 1, when you can do it: if the enemy (you) are attacking Japanese ships and/or conduct an amphibious assault on a japanese territory.
    You were conducting an amphibious assault. So this part is satisfied.

    Part 2, what can be targeted: surface warships but not submarines or transports.
    I cannot target your transport. (Note: if you had a cruiser or battleship taking part in the amphibious assault I could have targeted them. Targeting a Destroyer not taking part in an amphibious assault is doubtful.)

    Part 2 was my error, I cannot target your transport even though you were conducting an amphibious assault.

    OK so if I had a cruiser there and was doing an amphibiois assult you could target both the cruiser and the transport?

  • I accidentally hit space bar too fast and didnt change to keep one tank (instead kept 1 tacbomber). I am swapping the T.bomber for the tank (same attack value so the rolls didnt change).

    Yeah, that is what I was calculating too about 30 units. but it is so unpredictable on these battles with large number of units. If I hit slightly above average and you slightly below it is suddenly a 19-15 unit swing on round 1. Then it is a completely different battle. I really dont know what the odds are for the current outcome

    i dont know. Do you have any input on this? According to the battle calculator you are a 96% chance to win and on average you should have 33 units left. Now this is where it gets interesting, IF I win I should have 11 units left on average

    In my head this means there is a 4% chance I will have from 1 - 22 units left AND there is a 96% chance you will have 1 - 66 units left. You ended up having 9 units left. Maybe this is somewhere in the range of 15%?? This is basically my question, do you have a good feel for this?( because  I certainly dont)
