Mexico was not independent during the civil war. It was under French control.

Nice pics, they seam to be high quality

Look great FMG! Keep up the good work!
-
And do the turrets rotate/swivel with some firmness or are they very loose?
Lovely pictures by the way!
They are tight and will stay in any position
-
Fantastic, thank you!
-
FMG up the production. Get the Germans in production. Those Italians are awesome I am going to have to order more. Can’t wait to get them.
-
The end is near.
It’s amusing that this phrase is normally associated with prophecies of doomsday, but that in our case it’s something we see as a good thing. :-)
-
FMG……pat your self on the back cuz you deserve it. you are our hero. im gona preorder them soon, when you YOU THINK they will be here by min/max no spesifics
-
Field Marshal Games these pieces are excellent! Thank you for your dedication to improving this game with these extraordinary sculpts! :-) They are well worth the wait.

I still find it fascinating that these tiny tanks have moveable turrets. So the “stem” is on the turret piece and fits down in the body of the tank, right? It really makes me appreciate the complexity of the mould.
Oh yeah, while you say the turrets could be removed for painting or whatever, I would be too afraid to try and pull them apart for fear of breaking them. The plastic must be a bit softer than the plastic used for WOTC pieces.
I am so stoked to get these. Since you mentioned “end of month”, this month has really started to drag along very slowly. It seems like each day I look at the calendar and say “Is THAT all the farther we’ve gotten?!?”

The new Twilight Imperium expansion “Shards of the Throne” includes tiny tank-like futuristic fighting machines (“mechanized units”) with a revolving turret. You can see some pictures of them here:
http://www.boardgamegeek.com/image/954333/twilight-imperium-third-edition-shards-of-the-thro
They’re about as big as a dime, which is around the same size as an A&A tank, and they’re made of a kind of plastic which is a bit softer than the one used for A&A pieces. The units came in two pieces in the game box: a hull with a hole on top and a turret with a peg at its base. The fit is snug: each unit required a fair amount of thumb pressure to assemble. The assembled turrets rotate stiffly but adequately. Anyway, I don’t bother rotating the turrets because I think these units look best with the turret pointing straight ahead.

or backwards like the french lol  :-)

These look brilliant so far. when the whole set is complete, expect me as a customer. I play with some modified house rules where extra pieces and new special pieces would really help. my only beef is the colour, but The chinese and french units will definatley be purchased by me. If anything I’ll use the ones I don’t think match up with the regular pieces enough with those custom markers I saw on the store!
My god, I should be saving for college but now I want save some of it for my new gaming obsession!
I’m new here and I’m not going to read all 186 pages, so if this is a repost forgive me:
is there any plan to make some plastic building pieces? (i.e. factories, and maybe hospitals, universites, etc).
-
just found historical boardgaming now too…at least I can get the matching pieces. still want the ones by field marshal!
one more question:
is there a plan for additional chinese pieces? like chinese artillery and the like? that would be great, just something in that pale green to use.

See Coach, I told you there’d be a market for nationalist Chinese pieces

Near perfect match - Artillery from the A&A revised game, UK (Pale Green Color)

I believe FMG has plans for making Chinese units, but they will be a little while yet. Also, they are planning a “commons” set which will include Industrial Complexes (major and minor), Air Bases, Naval Bases, AA Guns, Bunkers, etc. Not so sure about hospitals. Here is the latest order of national pieces to be put out by FMG (Jeremy correct me if I’m wrong):
Italy
Germany
United States
United Kingdom
ANZAC
Soviet Union
France
Japan
Commons Set
China & Neutrals (possibly)
ALso, HBG is also planning on making some Chinese Units but I’m not sure when. At present, the listing for HBG’s sets are:
Axis Minors
US Marines
US Supplemlement set (alternate planes, alternate battleship class, escort carriers, light tanks, tank destroyers, etc. – basically stuff that isn’t in the OOB or FMG US sets)
Dutch, Polish and Neutrals
After this I’m not sure what coachofmany plans to make. I know there are plans for a further German supplement set and he has taken polls for Nationalist Chinese and Communist Chinese sets, but I don’t think anything is set in stone yet. -

So we do not overlap and have to compete with each other. We will carry eachothers product on the various sites also.
FMG will be doing:
Italy
Germany (Two sets, Grey / Black)
United States
United Kingdom
ANZAC
CANADA
Japan
Soviet Union
FranceCommons Set (Bases etc)
HBG has told me they are interested in doing the Neutrals and China, so I am happy to tell you these will be available in the future. HBG is also licensed to sell COMBAT UNITS individually, as they currently do with OOB sets.

Wow Canada I didn’t know you were doing them FMG. That is a pleasant surprise. I assume there color to be red. Curious as to your choice. You probably haven’t thought about it yet. I can’t wait for the Russians although it looks like it is going to be awhile.

Is that the order you’ll be doing them, or are you still planning to do the 6 majors from AA50 first?

I think red would be a bad color, especially if the communist Chinese are introduced. A light brown or pistachio green color would look good.
