They can lose. Even mildly careless behavior can cause either team to lose—even with a huge bid or starting advantage. That’s just what kind of game this is. Have a great player play until Turn 6, then put a first time player in their seat and give them control of the other side to watch how quickly this swings.

Does there exist a nice big global map available for download or purchase? The original board becomes a little small after a while, especially in Europe.
EDIT: I should add that I am looking for something custom made or of very fine quality, not just a photograph of the existing board, which I see is available here on this website.
Thanks for any information.

Not sure if you had already seen these files or not, but you can download one and have it printed.

That is really amazing, thank you! I am planning to print your setup and diplomacy charts as well.

Followup question, is this made for the second edition of 1940, or the first edition? Maybe there are no differences on the board itself, but we are playing the 2nd edition. Same question for the charts, are they for 2nd or 1st edition?

It’s a customized 1st Edition map, but we have been playing 2nd Edition rules on it for a long time without any issues.
You can also check out the map in my YouTube video…

The map is exactly the same with the exception of a production chart running across the top of the board. The dimensions are the same, the territories are the same, some of the lines don’t quite match up the same, and some of the colors are slightly different the same.

Very cool chaps

That’s a good idea although I always roll each dice one by one. Drives some opponents crazy but I don’t like to group my dice together.

No, and it’s a more complexed variant.
