@The_Good_Captain The rule applies in all sea battles where there are sea units allied to the attacker present, regardless of the type(s) of defending German sea units. The rule mentions only German subs because the author failed to take into account the possibility that the situation could also exist with German surface units if they were mobilized in a hostile sea zone. This oversight was corrected in the Axis & Allies Pacific Rulebook.

Early, UK needs a couple transports, or he’s no threat to German income, and therefore ignorable…more Nazis to Moscow.

Those transports have to stay alive though, so UK usually has to be conservative and coordinate from round 2 onwards with the US.

US needs to build DDs early to help clear the Atlantic, figs and boms help too…if they don’t have to go to Russia, they can help clear the last of the subs, or the Med fleet if it’s wandering north.

Once the Allies have enough DDs, or the German threat is gone, US switches to nothing but loaded transports…maybe a fighter if he’s got money. UK can pretty much do as he likes, exploiting weaknesses and opening things up for the US.

I Completly agree. I never play wiht bids, so the extra money would be nice, but yes build the kriegsmarine and go to sea. I do not know why but I almost always have a kill GB first mindset, Build A wall and ships, then send out the surface fleet. Now that this beatiful map by positronica has been created, I think the Axis Have a Pretty good chance at winning alot more games. Bids in my opinion are not needed for this one. It is no longer 2vs3 it is now 3vs3. Britain and america have a nice 1 two punch together for a long whileand in a few different games. It is a nice site to see a Germany- Italy combo also.

1. Concenrate on navy and air units buy some infantry each turn or aa guns to defend against bombing raids and a transport for later. You don’t need land yet you can get tons later from the 40 ipc’s each turn.

2. Hold the convoys. Depending on who you’re playing, if you completely wipe out the German navy they won’t build up too much again and if they do use your air force against them. Hopefully, they’ll be worried about Russia to worry about a navy that can’t to an amphibious assault (yet)

3. Get Britain to do a stradegic bombing raid on France. By now you should have built up enough infantry to hold France for alittle while. Do a bombing raid and amphibious assualt, this will weaken France alot. Then move your infantry on with transports you bought that turn (don’t get tanks as they’ll be destroyed by German fighters). Leave some fighters in France so you don’t get bombed or at least too much.

4. Next turn, get Britain to do bombing raids on the hopefully defenseless territories between France and Germany. Move your troops up and put new troops in France put every airforce you’ve got into Britain.

well im gonna list all the germans guns i know….(not inculding artillery pieces) …Mauser Karbiner 98,gewher-43,Mp-28,Mp-35,Mp-38,Mp-40,Mp-44,Mg-13,Mg-34 and offcoarse the Mg-42…did i miss anything?

The key to defending for the allies to to keep Lenningrad. the 12$ should be spent on 4 infantry to defend the city. If either Lenningrad or Vyborg stand at the end of the first German turn, the allies can use british fighters to attack and destroy the German fleet. So, the 12$ should be spent on a transport for the baltic so the allies have to fight for Lenningrad.
