  • @robson sorry to hear. Sounds like the family got sick. Hope it was a fairly easy ride. It’s a mess here too. This variant does not seem quite so bad, more like the flu and depending on vaccines on how bad it is for you. So far my family has not been sick, but we have quite a few friends that have been. Definitely disruptive and the health care system is strained. US is trying to move along like nothing is happening. Ignorant method of you ask me, but that often times sums up America these days!

  • @Robson Looks like the Axis got the first token by having 144IPCs. I would never have rushed out wasting 2 transports… but, like you said, this variant makes you do strange moves at the end to get tokens!


  • @kilroynothere Well sounds you have the same of politicians as we have. They spend billions of euros for supporting big companys but have no money left for our poor public school system where kids have to open windows the whole morning that the government does not have to spend money for air filters.
    Bottom line, we cover the kids with too many layers so that they could go on a excursion to the South pole. Unfortunately my uncle died within days and his wife is still in the intensive care station right now. My second brother has long covid and his symptoms got worse the last two weeks. And because he is running a one man company his whole financial situation has gotten worse.
    So we try to support him as much as we can. We hope that the whole situation will get better in spring.

  • @robson First, thank you for the taking of the west coast for the 144. I’d chalk that up to understanding this variant. Never would have even gone there with Japan except it’s round 7 of 8 and I could grab the victory token. Otherwise… dumb move!

    Second, very, very sorry to hear about your family. What a horrible situation and very sad. My condolences. I have not lost anyone directly, but friends have lost older relatives and I had a very good friend on a ventilator for a month early into the epidemic. He survived, thankfully and doing OK. But, he does still suffer some lung issues.

    I wish the world could work together and stamp this out. Wish everyone could believe in science, but at least here, there are those that do, and those that don’t. Period. It’s scary. If you haven’t seen “Don’t look up” I highly recommend it. A modern day idiocracy. A brilliant satire on the state of the US (and maybe the west in general).

  • @robson Looks like the Axis has this one. If you want to finish of round 8, happy to do so. Otherwise, if you want to try your hand at Axis again (and hopefully this time the dice gods favor you in France!), I’m game for another go at this variant.
