The successful campaign led to the conquest of much of the region, isolating German forces in several coastal pockets, and helped set up future Soviet penetrations into Germany, particularly Pomerania. The Offensive took place on the right-flank of the concurrent Vistula-Oder Offensive that began a day earlier.
