British Army

The British provide us with an interesting mix of units. Before 1944 most of their tanks are undergunned and fairly ineffective against infantry (the M3 Stuart being a notable exception). However, they have quite a few staple AI units, including the tournament-worthy Humber Scout Car. With their units the British seam to emphasize an infantry army supported by heavier tanks, though other forces will work quite well.

Axis Strategy Guide for D-Day

If you have played Axis and Allies D-Day before you probably suffered or gloried in an Axis Victory before due to first-time-played-syndrome. I lost horribly the first time I played as the Allies because I didn’t know how to structure my attack around the Fighter advantage. But after 2 or 3 plays the game play started to change; Allied Forces gained dominance of the “Cherbourg” Sector; Air Power was allocated properly; and Blockhouse threats were removed faster then a Grognard breaking out a counter sheet on Christmas Day.

Countering the KJF in Revised

While Kill Japan First (KJF) is not a commonly executed strategy, it still has been known to befuddle folks who have never encountered it.  The following is derived from a discussion on how to defeat a common version of the KJF strategy.  In this scenario, UK has a factory in India, US is likely to place one in Sinkiang, and to use their bomber against any unguarded trannies in SZ60, landing in Buryatia.

Allied Strategy for D-Day

If you opened up your game of D-Day, read the rules, sat down at the table, and have only known Diet Soda, Pretzels, and IPC’s for the last 20 years, then it might be a good idea to understand how to manage the new structures. If you need a review to get a well rounded understanding of some of the most important changes then read my D-Day review posted here at axisandallies.org.

Hostile Shores

The United States is a rather disfavourable country in A&A Europe. A pain for Germany, and a boring position to play by yourself. However, there are ways to get in the game fairly quickly. I believe the U.S. has too much money, because it is very possible that they can use this money. The main point that I focus this on is the fact that Morocco is directly within transport range of mainland United States. Germany tends to forget this, and at any cost, the U.S. should attempt to move troops into Morocco.
