The official release date for Axis & Allies 1942 is set for Tuesday, August 18, 2009, which is only 17 days from now. It is also rumored that it will be available for sale during the GenCon gaming convention in Indianapolis.

As a warning, Sean Shaw’s reviews of the game are very negative on the point that the game does not come with IPC money like previous versions, instead you keep track of money on paaer. Personally, after playing this game for years, we practically have the amount of money each play has in our heads. I frequently forget to “pay the money” for my units until it is time to collect again. The lack of IPC money does not break the game.
